While I agree that XY has not showcased any emotional growth in the show, I think her relationship with her 3 male leads makes sense once you view it as her trying to avoid her mother's fate, and trying to keep the oath she and CX made before their grandmother. This is why XY juggles XL and Jing while showcasing blind loyalty to CX.

I'll never get over that ending. It's been a few years and I still rant about it.

If this is a dream I'm going to be so mad. It better not be. And the assassination attempt from [redacted] better still happen cause I need to see her downfall. But I'm just wondering how they'll fit that in now because we know that XY will throw up blood soon, and then XL will save her in the clam so...how does the thing with [redacted] occur...

She's so crusty. She acts like CX belongs to her or something. She was never willing to sacrifice anything for him in the past before they got married and didn't truly want him until he was successful. Now she's throwing a fit because he doesn't truly love her. Why would he? It would make more sense if AN or that one brothel-turned-concubine did than her. They have sacrificed way more for him. She needs to relax.
