The court is super divided and there are a bunch of different fractions. The princess has the backing of another prince who has a large military and is planning to revolt. So the emperor doesn't want to upset her too much so that he can keep things in balance while having Duke Su/himself try to solve the problems within the court 1 by 1. That's a short summary of it at least.
So in short, she can do whatever she wants because of who is backing her. Idk what route they will take in the show though but I'm assuming it will be the same.

I didn't read the side stories so I'm not sure if they do or not. They might... At least we get to see them actually get married because I don't remember them getting married in the novel. They were engaged but there wasn't a proper wedding yet if I'm remembering things correctly. Also, do you by chance know what the baby milk/baby bottle emoji is signifying?

I love them so much. Also, I'm wondering what Duke Su will do when the emperor eventually finds out about him and 'JL'. I'm assuming that where the "chess piece can't stay" line from the trailer comes in?
