I think the heart on ep 40 is because in the book, 'JL' and everyone else, thinks that Duke Su is dead. That he died in war. She vows to never marry anyone again. The emperor makes a bet with Duke Su so he can't let her know he's alive until after year. So it could still be a happy ending. The problem though is that YZ is producing this and while most of the time the endings are okay sometimes he acts a bit nuts with his endings....so idk.

She was already going to miscarry from what I remember in the novel. So she used that as an opportunity to frame JL.

I think it's funny that y'all will say this but have nothing to say when it's an older man with a very young actress which is actually the norm. That happens way more often. Yet people aren't as upset about it.

As for SYR, It's definitely hard to hate him. I keep going back and forth between hating him and feeling sorry for him. And the princess is crazy af but her voice...sounds so nice, lmao.
