they form an understanding in ep 19, have a misunderstanding in ep 27 and get back together in ep 31. But I enjoyed the courtship too, that is, the episodes before ep 19. Actually, all episodes have their value in understanding the characters, hence, the drama better

It's been over a year since I watched this so I'm not sure about the exact episode where she finds out she loves DFQC, but it would be before ep 27, when she tells Chang Heng that what she feels for him is gratitude and appreciation not romantic love. I think it was in the mortal realm when DFQC and Orchid fell in love. And Orchid probably realized it in ep 26 when they kissed.

It definitely gets better. I had the same dilemma as you about Orchid at first but eventually understood why she was written that way. She was a baby immortal, merely 1500 years old at the start of the drama. Compare that to other characters like Dongfang Qingcang who was over 30,000 years old.

There's another Only For Love in Netflix US. I wonder if many fans requested for the cdrama Only For Love but Netflix counted the request towards the other one instead. So to make sure our requests count towards the right drama, I think we should include China in the request, for example, "Only For Love (China)".

Her admirers probably caught on to that and got turned off, except for the loser. Or perhaps, she didn't have any inclination to having a boyfriend, another thing that might have discouraged her other admirers. Regarding people gushing at her beauty, I had actually wondered about this when I started watching Asian dramas where characters are openly praised for their beauty. And in social media, praises such as pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, handsome, etc are heaped on celebrities like crazy (check posts on Dylan Wang on Twitter and you'll encounter "handsome" in almost every post, sometimes several times in a post), so I reckoned it's part of certain cultures. Regarding whether Bai Lu is that pretty to be praised like that in the drama, it's subjective. Some people would think she is, others wouldn't. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What matters is that people find Shu Yi pretty in the drama. I just watched a drama about Empress Elisabeth of Austria who was supposed to be so beautiful that the king fell madly in love with her during their first meeting. Alas, the actress, for me, was not that pretty. But it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the drama. You can use your imagination when senses fail you. That is, unless you are eager to find fault then it's your loss if you let such a trivial matter spoil your fun.

That is so true! I've just been watching Youtube videos about "ugliest cdrama actors" and "actors who cannot act" and swore I'm not going to YT again! How has the world become so vile? Social media is supposed to connect people together. Instead, it has become a cesspool of negativity where people can be as mean as they want to be and slander anybody and anything 🤬

I see there will be no end to this discussion. When one has gotten used to a world of negativity he won't see his negative world as it is. Don't worry, it's not just you. I've just been in Youtube watching videos of "Ugliest cdrama actors" and "Actors who can't act" and swore I won't visit YT anymore. But it appears negativity has pervaded every corner of the web.

You're so right about the bandwagon effect. That's what the yxh and water armies (netizens paid to defame celebs and dramas) aim to happen. They just need to plant the seed of doubt in people's minds and the tendency of the internet to cyber-bully the target takes over 🤬

With so many possible lists to make, why be negative? The internet is mean enough, lists like this don't help lessen the meanness

It used to be that when you search for a drama that is scheduled for release in a few days, it will be displayed as Coming Soon or something like that. But yeah, I'll try to search again on the 6th.
