Maybe OG YXW was a material girl so TTJ showered her with gifts. LSS on the other hand was happy with the fireflies. Awww same as you, fireflies remind me of my childhood memories. My mom and I, along with my mom's bestie and her daughter, used to go to the beach at sunset to watch the sun go down. Then we waited for the hundreds of fireflies to show on the trees by the beach. It was a magical sight. ✨️✨️✨️

I think she already started having feelings for TTJ too so we can see her moments of care peeking through. She is sincere in some moments like when she gets overwhelmed by emotions but she sobers up quickly and gets ruthless.
As much as I like the lighthearted moments, I find it jarring and almost like a 180 of LSS when they push her to do romcom cutie moves (We'll see more of this later). This makes her appear very heartless/scheming and builds the hate that many viewers have of her from this arc.
Based on the bts, I think the directors(esp the action director) just wanted to see Lulu act cute.😂

I wish Youku has someone review the subs to make them more precise. There are so many lines that can be improved. For example in the first scene when TTJ was consulting with PR about YXW-> TSub- TTJ: feelings? The better translation would be: TTJ: Can I have feelings for someone? It's a simple line but the meaning is different because the 2nd one shows TTJ confirming if he can have the ability to like someone. He is ready to accept the notion of having feelings for others.
I like his THIS THIS THIS THIS, SEND ALL OF THESE when choosing gifts for YXW. Haha! LOL at the crow complaining. The crow's voice here is deeper compared to the first ones.
TTJ being a tsundere at first then caving in when YXW asked him if he sent those gifts to please her then going with her to the swing. LSS is melancholic and finally shared something about her childhood memories by the lake. Ahh, here comes the fireflies... TTJ: Where is that place? LSS: Somewhere faraway. I'll show you when the chance comes. 😭😭😭 This firefly scene really tugs at my heartstrings. If we think about, LSS didn't want to be there and kill TTJ. She is also a victim of fate. Our poor star crossed lovers! 😭
TTJ gifts her with a "star" for YXW's birthday (that LSS doesn't know haha) and tells her to go home for a day. She invites him along and he happily agrees. They look gorgeous in this carriage scene. So much chemistry with just a look. She has a meal with the Ye family but TTJ refused to go in the mansion. That flurried hug and sentiments of regret from YXW show sincere emotions from her. TTJ's voice here is so tender and sweet. When paying their respects to TTJ's mom in Lingxing Hall, YXW introduces herself as TTJ's wife (with him smiling at that) and updates her on what's happening with TTJ. They have their funny banter on again and here comes TTJ's "I'll give you a chance to choose. Where do you want to be buried?" A romantic and very literal till death do us part proposal. 🤣🤣🤣
LSS apologizes in her head and later ponders on how much it will hurt TTJ to have nine spikes in his heart.
XL realizes their predicament but his men take the bait laid by TTJ. Because of the foolishness of the Sheng king, XL leads the men despite the odds against them.
It's battletime and TTJ shows off his powers before asking XL for a tall but XL refuses to yield. Fighting ensues and if not for the HGD, Xl would have been a goner. There goes TTJ with his majestic cape flip. 👏👏
