love the fl for the way she exposed her ex like yahhh thatās how you do it. Also her ambition for her job. The…
it doesnāt feel like he cares about her just as an employee though. Itās on this point that I have beef with the directing. theyāre implying too much with the shots and it feels too early for that. even if he looks at her - he wouldnāt look at her for that long (e.g. the bridge scene). At the end of the latest episode, I felt that what he said to her was far too direct. even if his character would say that, I donāt think he would look at her like that when he says that. something like that anyway
Iām surprised she isnāt more mad at him. sheās mad at him but itās sort of tame. girl likes him A LOT. he knows that too. I know she also sees and understands his pov. if I were her, I donāt think Iād be able to forgive him ever tbh. I wouldāve liked him to bring it up with me first, because considering the way the case ended, if he had brought it up earlier then they couldāve made the same plan together. I also wondered if the way it wrapped up without her getting into trouble for hiding the woman was realistic for them?
Iām sorry, but this is a complaint comment, so if you donāt want to be discouraged, donāt read further.
The budget must not be all that much. The writing is not strong, the directing is not very good, and the pacing is worse, but the base idea is interesting. Thatās how I ended up watching both episodes. Secondary characters are normal in a show, but the way itās arranged and directed here makes it a chore to watch the secondary characters. You can watch this at 1.25x and not miss anything, not even the acting. Itās not because itās written to be a slow show, because itās not. Sangmin canāt execute the yearning eyes look, but even worse is the way the scene where he stares at her is directed. It makes his acting look weaker. Itās not so terrible that itās unwatchable, and the idea is fun, but the execution of these first episodes falls short. A few jokes and comedic moments land well, but many parts that are supposed to be funny are not- purely due to execution- at these parts, I find the acting and directing to be out of harmony, so just don't stick the landing so it doesn't end up funny. The FL is pretty good with this, though. Her comedic timing is better, though ML's is alright here, too.
I think Iām complaining about it exactly because itās not bad, and with a little more care, it couldāve become very good, and so Iām peeved. I should have known what I was getting into. Anyway, points for the fact that Iām still curious about the next episodes. If there was a book, Iād rather read that right now because the execution makes me not want to watch it, so I can't say it was an enjoyable watch, but Iām still curious about how the plot plays out. If somehow the pacing and directing get better, I will be insanely pleased. I've watched worse, though, so it's okay. I have to say that the nicknames he suddenly gave her were cute, though.
it sounds unrealistic that he never moved on right? I was about to say so myself when I remembered a TikTok interview of an elderly man who said he missed his chance with his first love and just never got over it completely and never got married. itās been a while so I donāt have the video but youād be shocked by what happens in reality. thereās a saying that āif it has been written down, then it has happened or will happenā
that scene in TBT was insane!!š„š„The directors had a vision and the actors brought it to life fr!! I wonder if it has something to do with the charactersā ages? XG was 22 so maybe itās that? TBTās characters were older and when XG and LYS had been married 10 years the scene was different/stronger too
I mean if you remove all his 'redflag' he's basically another person. That's like saying would an apple pie would…
I agree. theyāre just not a good match. Their thinking didnāt fit so they donāt fit. If they worked out early in and even got married they would have argued a lot. it was being apart that taught Xu to understand her pov better. if they had been together early on he wouldāve stubbornly clung to his own ideas of what is right and constantly blamed her upbringing for her passion and ambition, completely misunderstanding her
I also wondered if the way it wrapped up without her getting into trouble for hiding the woman was realistic for them?
