This is from the drama script spoilers. The novel is pretty different already from some of the snippets I read here and there.

Xiuru (third sister) will end up with the Marquis. Du siblings' plot didn't succeed, and it seems like Xiuwan stayed single until she was 35 years old. She ended up with Xie Zhao (her original fiancé).

If he forced Lanxiang to marry him, then he can suffer for a bit. 🙂‍↕️ But based on the spoilers, it seems like he just took it head on and was sweet on her even if she wasn't feeling it in the beginning.

They said nope! We will be getting their entire lifetime. 😢

Qin Qiong/Qin Shubao and Shan Xiongxin are generals from the Sui and Tang dynasties.

They are part of the "18 Warriors of Sui-Tang Transition" (some real, some fictional) and ranked based on their martial arts abilities.

Shan Xiongxin was a peasant who rose to become a general. The soldiers who typically come from peasant background love to hear stories about these heroes with similar background. It also showcases Lanxiang's love for storytelling (which is a plot point for later in the drama). The story Lanxiang shared was Qin Qiong and Shan Xiongxin going from sworn brothers to being on the opposite sides. Both were against the Sui, Qin Qiong later surrendered to the Tang, but Shan Xiongxin refused because Tang's founder killed his brother. There is more to the story, but Shan Xiongxin later was to be executed and his friends such as Qin Qiong spend his last days with him and promised to still be friends in the next life.

Understandable. 😂

Yeah, these were some pretty major spoilers. 😅 C-viewers having access to the full scripts to dramas still shocks me sometimes. Money really can get one access to anything.

Supposedly part 1 is 31 episodes and part 2 is the 16 episodes but they are not airing with a gap in between. When part 1 is done, part 2 will continue straight away.

Have to remember this was ancient times. 🥲 50 years old was already pretty long.

Living until 50 is already pretty good for back then. 😂 The situation with Yuan Shaohui and Xurui is pretty realistic since they do need a male heir as the marquisate title is passed down from father to son so having no sons will become a problem. Yuan Shaohui's death is supposedly near the end anyway so at least viewers can see them happy for some time haha.

1) The 2nd ML is Han Liang who became the top scholar later on. He really liked Lanxiang and almost got married with Lanxiang. A good man and had a heroic death.

2) Zhao Xingtang dies during the Capital arc. Due to a prince's rebellion, she got injured by bandits and got saved by Lanxiang. To thank Lanxiang, she gave the Lin family the proof to help out the Crown Prince. ZXT passed away with Lanxiang by her side.

3) Grandpa Lin's appreciation for Lanxiang increased even more during a particular incident and he recognized Lanxiang as someone who has principles and integrity.  

4) Jinqi didn't know Lanxiang was Shen Jialan until after they had kids. Lanxiang did fall for him before the reveal but kept her guards up around him since he didn't know her true identity. But when he subtly admitted he knew and felt he owed her too much, she finally let down her guard. This part is supposedly really touching.

5) Yuan Shaohui and Xurui got along well at first but as she had like 6 daughters with him, Yuan Shaohui's mother demanded him to take concubines which he did, but still no sons and only daughters (LOL, his Y chromosomes said NO). Commander Yuan later got killed by Du Cuique. It was still a good ending for Xurui as she maintained her position as the main wife and is like the First Madam holding down the marquisate household. She also killed Du Cuique and that basically was revenge for Yuan Shaohui. Her way of speaking also changed and she became a "boss lady".

6) Dui Cuique got killed by being burned to death. Said to be a bad person even up until the end.

7) Xiuwan still ended up with Xie Zhao (when she turned 35 years old). Xie Zhao came to propose to her, and both loves traveling. Xiuwan originally planned to stay single forever and didn't think the Xie family would be serious as she was considered old at that point, but Xie Zhao was serious.  

8) Lin Jinlan (second brother) passed away from illness later on.

9) Lin Jinqi passed away at age 50. Before he passed away, he tied the red string of fate around his and Lanxiang's wrists as he hope they did be husband/wife even in their next life. He said, "The matchmaker needs to recognize this person, don't get it wrong in the next life. Her name was Shen Jialan when engaged, and later Xu Lanxiang".    

10) Lanxiang lived for a veryyyyyy long time.

11) After marriage, Lin Jinqi is super gentle and sweet towards Lanxiang. He was constantly trying to flirt with her.

12) Lanxiang slaps Jinqi a lot during their marriage.

13) Lanxiang fell for Jinqi during the second half of the Capital arc. She caught feelings but tried to hold back. She truly accepted him when Jinqi took her to pay visit to the Shen family graves (Jinqi didn't know she was Shen Jialan then, he just wanted to tell her everything about himself, including the past with the Shen family). It was then that Lanxiang found out it was Jinqi who collected Shen family's bodies.   

14) Nanke and Xiaolian got married. Jiugao and Yuchan got married. Gantang ended up with Xiaolian's brother.

Translating some MAJOR spoilers from a C-netz who read the drama script (though the script might not be the final version and there might be some changes):

Yup! Her name in Chinese is a type of poisonous flower which foreshadows this plot. It is likely she is the one poisoning the family too in the first place (working with Dai Rong?) so she can come in as a savior with the right medication since she was the one who caused it. And if she had cured everyone, the Lin family owes her big time and there did be rumors at that point saying Lady Du did so much for the Lin family. It becomes the perfect push to have the marriage happen.

Yup LOL. ZLH got the nickname "Foundation General" from that drama. Compared to LXY here in this drama where you can actually see his skin texture, not super pale, and he actually looks like he is a trained soldier with his fight scenes.

POJ is more of a visual drama meant to push ZLH and TXW into more popularity (both of them have big investors/powerful agents behind them trying to put them into big IP dramas). It really doesn't have much to do with trying to create a good drama for the viewers.

Behind the scene investment, really big promo, and number inflation. On the Chinese side, outside of the fanbases, POJ was not considered a good drama. There were a lot of negative reviews over the character inconsistency, the fight scenes, the plot, etc. It was filmed pretty though and had the same director as "Blossom" which blew up back in 2024 and considered a dark horse drama that year.

Agreed, and just want to correct one thing, Xiuru is Jinqi's half-sister (same father but her mother is the concubine while ML's mom is the legitimate wife). Xiuwan is the cousin (father is ML's uncle and his legitimate wife).

Yes, she is trying to have Xiuwan and Du Zheng get together and have Du Zheng be part of the Lin family. As does she, she wants to get with Lin Jinqi and join the Lin family.

With their current status, it is not likely the Lin family would ever consider them as the Lin family would want to marry their equal match or marry up. So they are using malicious means to force their hands; from the flowers during the banquet, the changed clothes causing mistaken identity, Lady Du being the bridge for Xiuwan and Du Zheng to secretly meeting each other to sweet talk her into sleeping together, etc. The Lin elders are also not foolish, First Madam already sensed Lady Du is not as sweet as she appears to be. They would have put a stop to it ASAP if they have all the information and can catch them red-handed.
