A pretty much perfect ending to a series. I especially loved the end when the new laws established are reflective of the past cases and to make sure those similar types of cases will be properly handled and there won't need to be as many perpetrators that needed to exist out of simply revenge due to the corrupted system.

But at the end of the day, he can't override the emperor, empress, or empress dowager. Since he can't have Qin Wan, he still got Qin Zhaoyu which is not a loss for him, he just needed ties with the Qin family. The empress herself preferred Qin Zhaoyu because she is still from the first branch. Plus Prince Cheng ended up with a "worse" match so he will always be happy with that.
