Bahahaha, someone on Douban forums has a theory that Qin Chen is gay (since he was uninterested in his pregnant wife). 🤣 That he killed Liu Chun out of jealousy because he and Liu Chun had a thing, and he found out Liu Chun cheated on him. Also killed concubine Liu after he found out about their affairs. 🤣🤣🤣

It makes sense stat-wise too. Majority of women's deaths are caused by their partners/family members. Let alone in a historical period where buying/selling maids was normal, having concubines was the norm, etc. 😢

Wei family and Song family are two separate families. But Duke of Song's sister married into the Wei family as the legitimate wife and birth the older son, Wei Qizhi. Wei Yanzhi (second son) is the son of a concubine in the Wei family.

Yup, plus at the end of the day, Yan Chi is still the 7th prince. Her family's death has to do with the imperial family so it is not something she can tell him easily even if she trusts him more later on.

I gotta say Qin Shuang is pretty cute. She is "bratty" but not in an evil way because she is too silly. She doesn't have the same standing as Qin Xiang since Qin Shuang's mother is a concubine, so the elders don't treat her as well compared to Qin Xiang. Her behavior therefore makes a lot of sense, she is very all bark but no bite. And funny enough, she is probably the most normal one in the Qin family. 😅

Meeeeeeeeee, the director really captured the cast so well. I was staring at Li Landi's face half the time because she has the prettiest eyes and the lighting showcased her amber eyes so well.
