In the novel yes, and she goes on living with her child and doctor Cui. I really hope they change the ending for the drama, but I‘m pretty sure they won‘t, for the emotional impact.

Agree, I was moved to tears by the sword dance scene and the ensuing conversation. RJL‚s performance was on the spot emotionally. This was also clearly the turning point between them.
