I think he always wanted to do rock as well. When Jiu Lian Zhen Ren performed with him as guests on his tour he said that was his kind of music or something along those lines. Agree, I hope he stays away from stadiums for his own tour. His venues were huge too and yet the atmosphere was way more intimate than at a stadium.
