HELLO EVERYONE!

Here goes "a sentence or two" about myself. Sorry, can't do less. It's quite impossible for me to write shortly, so brace yourself~

A LITTLE BIT OF TRIVIA ABOUT ME

So, I live in Finland and am lvl. 23 in life.

Always happy to meet new people.

Nerdy, theoretical, clumsy and lazy perfectionist (wut does that even mean? Don't worry, it's complicated, even to me) probably describe me the best. You could also say that I'm 100% ahjumma-by-mind girl and usually the "mum" of the group.

Aside from dramas and music, I love cooking, drawing and reading. I'm not a sporty type. At all. Oh, and I love tea! Almost any kind but must say I can't stand matcha. I'm trying to become friends with coffee but the progress is sloooow... (UPDATE: I kind of like it now! Not winning tea though)

MY JOURNEY TO DRAMALAND

Back in the kindergarten I met this Chinese boy who's been my good friend ever since. One day in my super curious mind I started to think about his Asian roots, so, I looked up and found cool things about China and Japan. I guess that works as an opening to my interest towards Asia.

Then there's also my endless love for video games, which I've played ever since I was a little kid. Even when I barely knew any English and had to translate interesting parts of the game with a dictionary. I happened to play a lot of games made in Japan (LOTS OF time was spent in Final Fantasy series), so I guess that's my influence. I also adore game music tracks to death as well. They're really neat and Uematsu Nobue is probably the main guy to blame in this case. By the way, Two Steps From Hell is great as well. Yeah, that's for sure.

♥ Digimon, Totoro and Sailor Moon. Alongside games, these three were practically my childhood and I guess they served their purpose not only as great memories, but also as nice transition from cartoons to anime. Anyways, I found my way to anime and manga sometime around 2005. That's pretty much when I started to spend more time watching Asian TV shows and not being like other cool kids. ^_^

In 2007-2008, Kajiura Yuki came into the picture with Kalafina and FictionJunction, which are amazingly talented vocal groups she's formed. They're only J-pop artists I have formed any interest in... so far at least.

2007, Hana Kimi. It was a hell of the ride dramathoning for a couple of years back then and I loved every second of it. It was something new and fascinating, but after some time passed it slowed down a bit. Gladly.

2010Mary Stayed Out All Night. Out of pure curiousity and will to try something new, I watched it and fell in love with another way to do dramas compared to what I had used to. It differed from J-dramas and that was really refreshing. Please, do not get confused, Japan still holds very special place in my heart and probably will always be THE number one, even though I have spent much more hours on Korean shows. If I remember correctly, Heartbreak Library's the very first Korean movie I have seen. Okay, so, even though this was the time I found my way to Korean TV, the country's entertainment side wasn't completely new to me. I started listening to K-Pop around 2008.

Later in the same year, I stumbled across Autumn's Concerto and that was my first Taiwanese drama. Once again it happened to be quite different from what I had got used to, but not only to other Asian stuff but actually to even other production from Taiwan I have seen afterwards. Oh my, how I loved it back then. Still do actually. I watched Secret as my first Taiwanese movie some weeks later and what a beautiful, brilliant and breathtaking movie it was.

What comes to Chinese movies, the very first one ever must definitely be one of Jackie Chan's movies. Don't remember which one, though. But in 2012... as a devoted fan to many Asian related topics the first C-movie for me was First Time. Year after, I watched Le Jun Kai as the first C-drama.

2014, Thailand, Full House and First Kiss. I haven't got as into Thai dramas and movies as to other countries I have listed above, but it definitely was a good experience checking some of the shows out.

I watch mostly romance but melodrama, drama, psychology, suspense and action are also genres I'm usually interested in. Based-on-true-story stuff is almost always, without exception, a green light for me. War genre works pretty often as well. I hardly watch any mainly historical production. History's cool but often in these types of dramas the politics are so heavily included that most of the time, they just bore me to death.

Nonetheless, usually any genre will do if the cast and/or the plot is interesting enough.

I'm pretty sceptical with idol actors so I don't usually watch idol dramas unless I have heard something very promising of them from a trustworthy source. Gladly there are some positive surprises amongst them.

VARIETY SHOWS I LOVE

I love the style they make variety and reality shows in Korea. To be honest, it's quite opposite to how they make them in my country, and honestly, I rarely am a fan of them. :F

Here's some favorites! Running Man, Family Outing (Season 1)Strong HeartWe Got Married (Seasons 1-3)Hello Baby! (SHINee and MBLAQ's seasons)Dad Where Are You Going?Roommate, K-Pop Star and Abnormal Summit

MY MUSIC TASTE

Almost as much as I like Asian dramas and movies, I love Korean music.

2007, BIGBANG, Lies. So, I started with this song back in the day but didn't become a fan then. Neither did I continue listening to any K-Pop.

...but everything started rolling after I heard Haru Haru in 2008 and I became a fan and have been one to this day. They practically have been my number one ever since even if there's some other great groups and solo artists.

But here's a little list of Korean groups I really enjoy. Surely I listen to others too, but I must admit that not nearly as much as these names. BIGBANGB.A.PBTS, Block B, 2NE1VIXX2PM and Brown Eyed Girls

And here are some other names. EPIK HIGHOutsiderSE7EN, Hong Jin YoungGummyClazziquai and Gilme

Okay, let's be real. I have never been too into hip hop or rap in general, especially to what Western artists offer and metal, rock and folk is much more alike me. But for some reason I have found liking to the way they do it in K-Pop... Well, I guess I can't be surprised because before knowing anything about anime, manga, Asian fairytale dramas and movies and Korean music, I rarely listened to any pop, hip hop, EDM or songs that came on radio as mainstream. Nowadays my taste in music is much more open and I'm willing to find different artists with unique and quality music.

Lastly, here's some names of bands I like to listen outside of K-Pop. Nightwish, Poets of the Fall, SabatonWithin Temptation, Of Monsters And MenAmaranthe and Linkin Park
