Part comedy, part stand-arguing-repeater watching this was... 'interesting' and requires you to take your brain completely out and put in in the next town over
This drama hinges on a savior misunderstanding that spiraled out of control. The ML never explained or took credit for saving her and later every time he did anything else for her he always did it anonymously which allowed FL to again misunderstand it had been 2ML.
Idk... maybe I'm old-fashioned but drugging and sexually assualting someone, forcing them to unknowingly bear children then rending them infertile, while also refusing to let the other party be part of your or the children's lives once you're all found... is a pretty messed up concept and makes you a scumbag regardless of gender in my book... 🤷♀️
This version was sort of like watching a long drawn out train wreck. There were so many plot holes and threads started but left dangling that it is a study on how to make a bad adaptation. Don't expect romance, don't expect to see the 2ML suffer from his illness recurring (it only starts coming back at the very end), don't even expect to see 'all' of the original family suffer (unless you consider being poor suffering).
While this what has come to be a tried and true "sisters reborn marriage swap" drama I feel it is a step above others in that the FL's very nature and inherent character in this one is different. She isn't just "I'm going to make the best of my situation and turn the tables of a bad hand...", she is genuine in her caring and gentle nature throughout. Don't expect a lot of 'romance' as the only 'intimacy' shown between the leads is them laying in bed next to each other once, holding hands a couple times, and a hug or two. There is no in-fighting or scheming in this drama, the general ML has a 'adopted sister' who is a transmigrator but FL doesn't even interact with her until 2nd half of the drama. The sister is more 'just you wait until I'm famous' than scheming.
90% FL torture... She randomly between scenes will hide her face and/or not mention being the princess when other people are around or tell them she IS the princess and they'll regret it when she's alone and no one can corroborate her statement... It's so drawn out and ridiculous that by the end you half expect the Emperor, her own FATHER, to come in declaring she's the Princess and the other country to declare that he needs to be locked up and tortured because he's lying 🤦♀️
Unless you are a die-hard fan PLEASE save your time. The story makes very little sense in a logical progression standpoint, and if we want to discuss the synopsis... I don't know WHEN she "focused on building her career". Things in this plot often happen off screen and it's left up to the viewer to try and piece together the missing information. Sometimes this missing information never makes any sense... like WHY the ML pretends to be a guard wearing a mask to the FL in like 3 scenes... There's a weird scene trying to resolve her parents and she's the leader but we don't see them die or go home nor FL actually DO anything as 'leader'... There's an epidemic but then the ML is like 'don't help' then another scene moves on with something happening to FL... So much is just RANDOM feeling
Overall not a bad version of this plot but also not amazing. Sound dubbing was awful, one person would speak and be audible while the next person would and the words they were saying would be practically inaudible.
