This is an unfair statement but it does demonstrate your bias against Cdramas so well done.

I'd like to quickly interject that technically, while yes, the FL gave the order to kill PWX once she died because she was under the impression he was the one to kill her; it was actually SRQ and SY that planned and order his death. It was talked about towards the end of the show how they knew LR was being poisoned and finally let her die and agreed that they would BOTH need to die in order for there to be a clean slate politically. This is further evidenced by him gettkng attacked in the beginning of the show BEFORE LR actually died.

So there aren't a "lot" of watchers of this show right now but it is getting a good review I see. I wonder if some of the disconnect comes from expectations of the synopsis vs what we're shown in episode 1. Personally I put it on hold at episode 1 because the show seemed slower and not as "thrilling" as the synopsis was making it sound. But then I just watched episode 2 just now with a bit of a different mind set and it started to become more interesting.

I saw that too and it's what pushed me to watch ep 2.

EXACTLY! And it flows into the trailer scenes pretty well too if you watched that.... his dad all "you can't leave til you can unsheath your sword on this mannequin".

I thought that was funny too! He's drunk out his mind and just goes "I know swordsmanship" and then BAM 🤣

According to BTS they filmed over 500 fighting scenes! That's mind boggling to me but I can't wait to see more of them.

I'm with you on this. I think this is something where the first couple eps will be more enjoyable as a rewatch once the story starts to establish itself 🤷‍♀️

I'd say you're definitely entitled to your opinion since even while I'm personally liking the CGI elements the EXTENT of them are taking me by suprise. I basically had to readjust my mindset on the fly while watching. As for the characters being 1-dimensional... so far everyone is only just now being introduced still so there hasn't really been time to establish much of the side characters but I'd say they have so far done an okay job with giving hints of depth for the 2 MLs.

You can like this show without dragging a non-related actor into it and bringing him down.

It depends on what you are looking for out of them. Just like longer shows there are ones that get bigger budgets and better names, plots and acting and ones that cast no names with bad plots and acting.

I haven't watched this one yet so can't say it's quality but if you want to try the "best of the best" based on ratings of short dramas like these you'd be looking at:

Im sure this comment will get buried and or ignored but if anyone sees comments from me on this page and feels like responding to them, please don't. I'm done. I don't need essays telling me I'm wrong for liking a show and that how I interpreted the show was wrong.

Np. I haven't been back to this page for a while cause I got a "little" obsessed with this show so Idk how the comments may have changed (I only read this one to respond to it). When it first ended people were up in arms basically about it being not worth their time because of the last scene and that's why I made that (and many other lol) comment(s) because essentially I fully believe they did what they could with leaving the show as much of a sci-fi/time travel element as they could get away with. Hence last episode getting a little wonky with suddenly not saying what year someone is in and scenes sliced in the middle making you have to pay attention to what clothes are being worn to piece together what timeline you're watching when.

Lol I didn't say they cut anything, it was the structure of the last episode and how they had to suddenly become vague with what timeline is being followed in which scene leading up to the final scene with him waking up. I had multiple other posts discussing that last episode already though in exact detail already.

It is obvious that you feel very strongly about this so all I'm going to say is that I was specifically mentioning "noble" ness in regards to that first scene you were talking about and why they would want to shoot him being fawned over by a bunch of ladies in society. None of the past life things were known at this episode. That's why we the audience had a seat to the reveal when PWX talks to LR and SRQ to his brother about "the dream".

They don't spell it out in the show but from what I could gather it's the fact that they WERE planning treason and he felt he'd be on the losing side with them.

I find this fascinating so first, thank you for actually taking time to express your thoughts in this way. Especially because it was so long.

Here's my personal take-away based upon the scenes you specifically mentioned; I can't speak at all on lighting or halos or what not because I honestly didn't pay any attention to them and even going back and specifically looking for this in regular scenes I'm not finding it so I'd have to have it pointed out in a video I think. 🤷‍♀️ Not saying it's not there, just that I personally don't know anything about it and it didn't affect my viewing of the show.

The first scene you're mentioning was absolutely designed to highlight SRQ. This is the man that PWX is essentially fighting a "losing" battle against in this second chance life and at the beginning he's not even a scheming snake, he's supposed to he seen as just himself; a righteous, noble-minded gentleman who puts family above all else and who everyone adores.

You mention having an issue with the longing glances but in the first couple episodes LR was absolutely still in the mind-set of 1st life and they lived together for as almost husband/wife for 17 years so yeah... there was longing and tension on her side as she sorted out her feelings. The problem here is that you (and not you as in you personally but you as in most people) keep forgetting the lines about how the more the royal family liked something the LESS they showed it. It was almost beaten into them and it was REALLY hammered into the audience with that cat scene from the past 😭. And LR herself has proven this. PWX had to find the letters she wrote when he "died" for him to know just HOW DEEP her feelings for him actually were. So literally her having "longing glances" at SRQ mean absolutely nothing because she is always showing the world a face other than the truth.

As for the banquet, this scene ONLY highlights PWX and LR growing bond because it proved that he was faster on his feet, could recall the past performance between them and improvise an additional instrument into the "forgotten" song. The flashbacks provided needed context that I felt added tension to the scene. PWX comes out with a major win in this scene, not a loss due to past life glances.
As for your final comment about them not showing his brother as the tutor, the first scene mentioning the tutoring is where SRQ basically says "my brother's missing again? I'll put myself forward to be the tutor instead since he obviously doesn't want to do it" so why would they show him being the tutor? When they DO show him having scenes tutoring the Prince it highlighted his radical social ideas and then always transitioned into palace scheming with the Consort. Honestly, if anything I would have personally preferred MORE scenes like this because as I was watching I questioned where he was multiple times and why he didn't have MORE contact
with the Consort when she started doing dumb things and it'd cut to him shaking his head and essentially calling her an idiot.

Okay, honest and genuine question then... What scenes should they have changed to shorten his screen time and why were they not needed?
