first episode was boring and it’s all subjective. just because you like something doesn’t mean everyone else…
I agree with you that not everybody has to like this show but it's definitely being targeted by anti fans for one reason or another.

It almost never happens that MDL ratings are worse than IMDb ratings but TNP is rated one point higher there than it is here.

This series has definitely been targeted. Not sure why.

I liked it, but it is the background episode so you understand what's to come.

I'm sure there are plenty of people in the UK that speak English with Asian accents. His was sort of Asian mixed with English. The kid tried.

I knew exactly what you meant. I think international schools in Thailand teach The American accent though. At least that's what my Thai friend told me. For all I know there are some that teach American accents and some that teach English accents.

The kids that go through those schools do not come out speaking English with a Thai accent.

Edit. The one notable actress in the series that spoke almost native sounding English was the character Samantha. She did go to an international school as a kid. But I think with an American accent. She has an English sounding name which means to me that she probably has an American or English father as well.

There are actually some YouTube videos of her as a teen working on losing her Thai accent when speaking English. She barely has any accent at all.

No didn't miss it. It was sort of annoying, but I don't think he's going to be speaking a lot of English throughout…
I think NuNew is doing a great job outside of his accent, and it's not like he's doing an entire series with that accent. So it's a little annoying but not going to ruin my enjoyment of the series.

NuNew appears to be pretty good with languages. From what I understand his Chinese is close to native and even in languages he doesn't speak fluently, like Japanese, his accent is quite good. I'm taking this from people who speak those languages since the only foreign language I speak is Spanish.

I'm sure if NuNew was willing to spend the time to work on his accent and his English language skills he could do it but his workload is such that I don't know that would be worth his while.

That being said I think both of them should work on English because it will help them a lot if they want to have an international career. If they're not pretending to be native English speakers in a drama accented speech is just fine. That I think would serve them well. Spending the time it would take to try and sound like a native speaker probably isn't.

International students are not native speakers. Khanin has been living in London since he was a baby.

My best friend is Thai and speaks English as a second language. She speaks it fluently but does have an accent.

NuNew is playing someone who was born speaking English, probably as his first language, or maybe second language from a very young age. So he actually shouldn't have had any kind of accent.

If you look at the girl who played Samantha she doesn't have an accent or has almost no accent because she went to a Thai international school as a kid. And given that she has an English or American name I'm assuming her father is one of those things.

As long as Nhu isn't extensively speaking English in this series I'll live with it. But I found it jarring.

I'm not even sure why he dyed his hair for this series but the hair color doesn't bother me.

I agree with you. And I already said that NuNew's accent was good enough considering he only spoke a few sentences and I don't expect him to be speaking extensively in English in this drama.

I'm American too, and I was brought up by an English nanny and had an accent until I was around 10 years old. So I definitely know what a native American and English accent sounds like.

Just because he wasn't perfect does not mean he didn't do a great job in the drama and I expect that to continue.

72. And reading comprehension is important. I hear his Chinese is much better, but I'm not in a position to judge

Just because someone said it was convincing doesn't make it so. If you're fluent English speaker you realize this is not what fluent English sounds like regardless of whether the accent is British or American.

But either way Nhu and Zee did a great job. Nhu's English would only be a problem if he was speaking English extensively in the drama.

Edit. And sjay said the accent was good enough for him but that doesn't mean that most people will agree. He was also under the impression that Khanin wasn't living in the UK for his entire life when he came there as a baby.

The cut version is only available on One 31 which is a Thai television channel. Also has no subtitles. So at this…
Originally when I started watching BL I only had an account with Viki. The reason I think it's ripped off from YouTube is that each episode is strung together in four sections.

They didn't bother stripping out All the extraneous stuff that YouTube has when they do an episode in parts 1 2 3 and 4.

I noticed that Viki has recently made Cutie Pie part of their plus package which I don't bother with since I have IQIYI. For all I know they've changed this now, but a couple of years ago that's the way it appeared on their streaming service.

Khanin hasn't been living in London "for a while" He's been living in London since he was a baby and nonverbal. His mother was killed when he was less than a year old. Under those circumstances you would think that he would speak fluent unaccented English.

But the reality is unless Nhu spent significant amount of time with a dialect coach and also becoming fluent in English there isn't much of a chance he's ever going to be able to accomplish that.

Maybe he will try one day when he has more time but for the purposes of a few sentences in this series it probably wasn't worth the effort. So you have to just ignore the accent and pretend he really does speak fluent English.

It's still ridiculous. And I've watched cutie pie both on IQIYI and on Viki, which has the cut version. Looks like they ripped it off from YouTube. I didn't really notice a difference.

The part when the ep ended I laughed cause his dad just died and then the effects appear 😭😭
What makes you think his dad died? First of all Saksit Tangthong,, the actor who plays his stepfather, is a major supporting actor in the drama. If he died in episode 1 he would merely be cast as a guest.

We never see what actually happens. All we know is a guy with a gun comes in when Khanin and Charan try to make their escape and the stepdad wrestles with the attacker. You never see him shoot him. You don't even know if he was injured. All you see is the expression on Khanin's face.

Secondly in the spoiler for episode 2 Khanin says to Charan that he wants to go back to his father rather than go to Emmaly. Doesn't seem he would say that if his father was dead.
