sorry,IMO the word arrogant applies to ZBF, not WJL. WDB is simply a foolhardy and obstinate constable who knows deep down he may be outnumbered but is strongly dedicated to carry out his duty to arrest the murderers to pay for their crime and he close the murder case.

hmmm... the front and back of his uniform has blood at the same spot which is like something going through the front to the back. Also, when he removes his uniform to return to General Zhong, his inner shirt has blood stain at the same spot. That's why i don't think it's the blood from his dearie.

IMO WDB has to live by the so-called Qing law, else his life will be meaningless. He belongs to the old school of thought. He knows nothing else but be loyal to Qing emperor.
