Sure you can very easily justify the breakup itself. However it's narratively awful to do it so close to the finish…
That's true, cause then it becomes a plot divice. My thoughts are mostly towards those comments that exaggerated saying that it was the worst break up they've seen in a drama or that it was very unnecessary.
