For anyone unsure about watching this due to the comments, I’d still recommend it. Out of 23 episodes, 20 were genuinely good. The ending might not be the strongest or even disappointing, but overall, it’s an enjoyable watch,so give it a try🤍

Well Xiao Jue distanced himself only for a bit, he eventually realises that he wants to be with her no matter what, even if he cannot marry her. As for the emperor, i think he is a good ruler and liked seing the main couple being in love with each other, but after Chu Zhao's words he realised that them marrying meant that they could have an immensive military power, which could take his throne away in minutes and i honestly found his fear completely understandable.At the end, he understands that he was wrong and grants them marriage. Chu Zhao's obsession towards He Yan felt more like a filler for me, he was clearly attached to her but his expression didn't show any negativity when he saw her with Xiao Jue besides sadness,even when he saw them holding hands before his expression stated that he has accepted his "defeat".So his sudden possesiveness was kind of shocking for me. Also, i agree with you that love triagles towards the ending always makes the stories less good, because by that time everyone just wants to see the couple happy.

The ending was inevitable, so it doesn't bother me that much but the whole concept of the SMl coming back obsessive, possessive and violent towards the Fl was completely UNnecessary and probably just a filler for the serie. It's kind of disappointing and I've seen it a lot in recent dramas. Anyways, it was very enjoyable until episode 20 so..

It is sad that the gang doesn't have a lot of screen time but the good thing is, it increases the chances of them remaining alive till the very end 😭

Yes, the fl was right. I also sometimes get compared by my parents and yes it's not right to lash out your anger to someone else. You have to fight with your parents and set things right. Which is why i hope SZY can get her character development and apologize to the fl. She has to get stronger , fight back, realise her wrongdoings and apologize. Her character is just real. Their are a lot of people like that out there and they need a second chance.Is it bad that i hope she can change, i just can't feel hatred towards her

Zhou Shi Yun's character feels realistic. As people said, she and Gu Xue Jiao were inseparable when they were kids. But her mother, because of her own insecurities and feelings of inferiority poisoned her mind and made her see the fl as a competitor and enemy. The reason she tried so hard to bring her down was for her mother to stop comparing them and making her feel worthless.A person isn't born evil, but is made into one. I just hope that she can understand that what she did was wrong and go through some character development.
