The webtoon is a coming of age story, it's not a BL (btw) There is no romance the first seasons, it's all about…
Here they also added more story to the classmates, the teachers, the assistants, Soo Bin's mom when they could just have focused on 6 characters plus Jun's family. And of course the romance took too much place because even if they have an interaction, it's not meant to be the main story, it's there to show a side of Joon first. In the webtoon Young Ran is taking care of Mi Joo, there are touching scenes. All characters represent a type of personality and there was something to do with that. Soo Bin is an anxious person that needs to stick to someone, when her mom disappeared she stuck to Chan Ki, he probably knew that and tried to keep her at distance. Was it really a crush for her? She stayed around him like a puppy even if he was not giving her attention and was doing things to keep her away. Did she really love him or just stayed around because of her insecurities? It's not like she didn't know he had other girls, but she reached a point where she could no longer find comfort/security around him and stuck to Joon instead. Sometimes we see ppl that just lost their partner (death/divorce) finding another right away and we wonder how they can do that, it's because they feel like free falling and need to be saved. I think Soo Bin just wanted to be saved first and was not expecting anything from Joon, she doesn't totally trust him either. And Joon also finds some kind of comfort around her, she not threatening or asking much from him. It's not an ideal relationship. The whole story got messy because they tried to make their story the main story...Anyway it's over now.

There was not enough time to show everybody story and we lost time with other minor characters. Mi Joo and Young Ran have a better story in the webtoon, I like the relationship between the two girls. Soo Bin was already taking care of her first crush, cleaning his apartment even if he had GF, she's a bit like a mom.

Let's complain more! I was not against the romance first, I saw the diagram in the webtoon so I knew there was something between those two in the future but it's how they used it that pissed me off. They had a super good story about friendship and hardship, which was original and they ruined it. I felt like they put Soo Bin as the main character to "normalize" the story (sorry I'm not an English speaker I may sound weird sometimes), it was Soo Hyun role, he was the important one here. There was a way to show both relationships with Soo Bin and Soo Hyun but they decided that all was about het romance and she was the one saving him, adding nonsensical scenes to make it more dramatic... Really, why are they doing that when they just have 12 ep? Why adding more characters to the story when there is not enough time to develop their story? They are cutting all good scenes to put some boring ones that are not adding anything to the story. About Soo Hyun, at first, I was furious because I thought they would pair him with a girl, but so far it's not happening (haven't seen the last episode yet) and it somehow follows the story. I think they tried to tell us he had a crush on Mr.Park, but maybe I imagine things. Anyway it's sure that they are not doing a good job at hinting his sexuality. Only when he turned down Mi Joo the first time, for a moment, when she asked him why it couldn't be him and he hesitated, I thought "is he trying to say it? Sorry for the long comment I think I'm just nervous about the last episode, yesterday I had hope, but after seing the secret santa and school project...I'm preparing myself to be disappointed.

Sorry by "sexuality changes" I thought you meant they made him straight. Hiding that fact is not really surprising coming from a k-drama but it's also conveniently following the webtoon where nothing is reveled before the third season, what annoyed me and a lot of ppl here is really the romance over the friendship, I think we all already knew nothing would be revealed and expected them to stay vague about it . I've read the comments here, (I complained a bit myself) and the webtoon after, I'm just seeing it differently now and still have hope for the last episode, nothing big though.

The drama is mostly about season 1, there is nothing about Soo Hyun sexuality, he just turned the girls down and is fanboying all over Park teacher. For Mi Joo, in the webtoon she has a one sided crush on Soo Hyun just like in the drama. The most annoying thing was really all the invented parts with Soo Bin and Jun and the unnecessary drama...but maybe..maybe..we can expect a second season? In the webtoon they have an interest in each other. Anyway, so far in the drama Soo Hyun is not straight, we just don't know about his love life, and it's something that come later in the webtoon as well.
Respectfully understand some of the reasons for this controversy ( aside from sexuality changes) with KBS. Honestly…
Is there really a sexuality change? I'm at episode 10 and so far and it follows the main idea. (but focusing more on the romance) They took some plot lines of each season and merged them together.
Hello, did they actually made him straight in the drama because if they did I'm going to drop this drama. As a…
No. So far nothing say he's straight, actually he seems to have a crush on teacher Park. He has some affection for his childhood friend and Jun but it's nothing romantic.
Had no clue this was based on a webtoon when I started the drama and when I saw the comments I decided to do a…
Had the same reaction, but we still don't know, for a moment I thought he was going to say it in ep.8 when he hesitated and said "I..." " Sorry". The fact he liked his childhood friend doesn't mean he isn't either. Let's see.
I just wanna point out to readers of the webtoon (although how you read it is beyond me since it hasn’t actually…
I took a look at the webtoon and of course I started with the newest chapters and saw what people were talking about. Like many others, I didn't expect them to show it, I'm fine with "watering down" if it's the only way but of course I will be disappointed if they change the main plot line and the character, because it's part of who he is. Let's just focus on their relationship and hardships then. There is no need for more romance.
I started watching this yesterday and regretted it right away, I just know I want to binge watching it and complain about waiting for the next episode.
honestly is it just me that didn’t like neither the FL and the 2nd FL I founded the fl like she had no personality…
Same, first sounds fake, second was too dense and annoying. I didn't know who I was supposed to ship, even Sistar bottle girl seemed in the competition at some time. Loved both guys.
