Damns manā¦. HHJās role is so attractive here. All the men at the police station had to bow down and accommodate a lady, a womanā¦.. how refreshing to see people fear a woman in powerā¦.
In reality she didnāt do any of those, so those were just rumours because she is very pretty, and she dresses up flawlessly in everyday which is very out of the norm in a small village.
BUTā¦ I would say she is very smart and manipulative all along. Hence her relationship with the ML is very complexā¦.
Ummmā¦ it was sorta like a betrayalā¦.? Emotions wise it was complicated and intense because the other party is always kept in the dark, a lot of things were not openly communicated. Hence the mystery/thriller tagā¦..
Her face. Gosh. Tong Yao really really looks like Zhang ZiYiā¦. They have very different physiques though. She reminds me of a tall ZZYā¦.
The author of the novel also wrote the novel of Better Daysā¦ novel is really short, only 31+1 chaptersā¦. But damns, the novel is intense in terms of emotionsā¦. Not so sure if Iām going to continue watching this after reading the novel. š¤£š¤£š¤£

I find the FL here very intriguing as wellā¦.. like most of the dramas nowadays have a FL who is very strong, independent but always tries to strive for perfection, kind-hearted, have it allā¦.
The FL here is beyond that, sheās so unique, mysterious, dark, cold, ambitious, self-centered but also shows that she fears, is flawed, has nothing aside from her work, no family, no romance, and not even a house etcā¦.. I still canāt quite figure her out yetā¦. Love it.
I think he's more handsome in here and looking very very natural. I think it's the weight changes and makeup.
I actually donāt think itās surgery.ā¦ do human facial bones also shift gradually as we age? Or maybe itās the facial muscle and fat. I donāt know, he defo looks very different in Hotel King and he also has a shirtless scene there. He already has 6-pack thereā¦ quite similar to his scene in Tale of the Nine-Tailed, I actually think he is more buffed in TotNTā¦
Honestly speaking I definitely wouldnāt have thought he was good looking if I had watched Hotel King first. But like in Goblin and Tale of the Nine-Tailed he was like wowā¦ lol. š® esp in TotNTā¦.. but he has a very different hairstyle there. I only clicked on Hotel King after out of curiosityā¦.. didnāt even complete 1 episode.
he's like the opposite of the emperor from Love like the Galaxy. That guy was the best. best uncle, best emperor.
lol, but the character in LlTG was rather unrealisticā¦. They made that role very unconventional and differentā¦. The guy was super sweet and hilarious. š¤£š¤£š¤£
Most notable Emperors in Mainland history, esp those that ruled for long were mostly wary of their own sons, brothers etcā¦. Heck, even those that didnāt rule for long actually.
Kudos to the actor playing the Emperor, Hai Yi Tianā¦.. really brought the character to life, Iāve only ever found Joy of Lifeās Emperor, Chen Dao Ming amazingā¦ He still tops the list but Hai Yi Tian made the role here pretty memorable.

I think the actor, Hai Yi Tian, who plays the Emperor is really amazingā¦. The way he smiles, and also the subtle changes in his facial expression gives me the creeps. If I had a family member who cares for me in the same way as he does, I think I would have nightmares everyday. š¤£š¤£š¤£
Like he really made the role come to life, making it very multi-layeredā¦. throughout the entire series Iāve been wondering if he really loves his nephew or if it is just possessiveness/ obsessionā¦. Or itās neither and he purely wants to use GYX because heās very capable.

Very good review on the film. I think Jason Yu, the director left it open to the audience.
