I’ve rewatched this a couple of times…. Still a 10 for me.

So many life lessons to learn… esp for a female. Lol, I actually think guys should also watch this, so many things for them to learn too…. 🤣🤣🤣 as much as it’s on the extreme end and not exactly applicable to current times because it portrays sucha patriarchal society (and also superb family oriented which might not be applicable to all cultures/races) but a lot of instances/scenarios still hold true in the modern society now. Wished I got to watch this when I was like 15-16 yrs old…. Probably would have changed a lot of my outlook on life.

It’s called “Legacy”… ☺️ sorry, the way I said it was a bit confusing. It is a family politics drama with the backdrop being laced with political instability/war times.

I have another one… this one is more of a hidden gem, lesser known… BUT….. there is a huge like historical/war theme going on…. So… I don’t know…. If it suits you… coz I really dislike war movies/shows but surprisingly I watched through all of it…

Have you watched Legacy? The score in MDL isn’t high… but I really think it’s worth the watch. Also family politics, but this is basically based off real life Soong sisters…

Sword and Brocade. Not as good, but very similar gist and messages. Main theme is regarding family politics as well.

It wasn’t malignant though. His agency released an official statement saying it was benign in 2017…. But I think there’s more to the story… because they aren’t party drugs… and marijuana has medical uses…. So….
Would have to wait for the official results of the investigation. I found the news pretty surprising as well… he’s really talented. Hopefully all goes well for him and Netflix would still release his works.

Mr. Peng Guan Ying…. Why do you always star in dramas with really random endings…. It always ends up being really weird….. 😒😒😒

Gave the 2nd ML a chance. I actually wished she did go out with the dude…. In a way I do actually think both of them are more compatible with one another….. but I think the theme here is like “one and only love”… or like first love for a female….

Have to admit, the entire production was superb engaging and addictive for the first 30 episodes…. I literally started this with no expectations. I stopped at Ep 30, FF the last episode and yea, was a tad ridiculous… to be super specific, it’s actually the last 3-4 episodes which were super random.

The little boy who played Ning Xiang was wow….. he was good.

Not only that. They literally killed the whole thriller plot. The conclusion to the plot was so lame….. I was like wot the……
And true enough, once the ending was released…. The score on Douban went to shambles. And I was so pissed I actually went to read the novel.

And shitz….. the whole plot in the novel was just as ridiculous, no wonder…… I totally got conned. Like throughout the drama I actually thought the thriller plot was one of the most brilliant ones I’ve ever watched. At least for white collared crimes.

Unexpected Falling started off sooooo great. Like the entire plot building etc… but come the ending…. I legit wanted to flip tables….

She was so damn good, like I literally noticed the actress for the first time here. She totally brought the character to life.
I actually went to look at her profile coz I wanted to watch her other works…. But I didn’t really find anything interesting.

Uh… I looked at your list. No… the romance totally isn’t like any of your first 15 listed…. So those are uhhh… different. This one is likely closely to the general reality. Like something that could happen to anyone literally after they start working for a couple of yrs. But I saw you rated You are My Glory super high… then l actually think they defo gave so much more sweet moments here. Wayyyyy more… 🤣 or perhaps comparable…. Like if you are talking about the romance plot then I think it’s comparable/has a similar gist.

Also uh…. Just FYI… the romance bit isn’t the only main theme though (makes up like ~40% of it….?) it consist of various other main plots which are related to very specific genres/themes … like My Liberation Notes… Story of Xing Fu… and like some of the other ones listed in the Recommendation page on top. Thus filling up the need for 31 episodes prior.… Could very much be different from wot you expect. It looks very different to the list you shared.

Yea.. but for those, there are tonnes of drama, misunderstanding etc etc AFTER they get tog…. This one isn’t like that… hence why I said there is loadsa PDA… and like uhh.. lol. I don’t know, I was quite surprised the regulators didn’t just ban everything. Coz the level of intimacy was closer to K-dramas… ah, maybe similar level to Dating in the Kitchen one, but that one I don’t fully recall how deep into the series they got tog but I remembered it also was quite close to the end, or there was some crazy drama after they got tog. Well I’m glad, I totally think C-regulators should encourage affection, being tactile etc. 👍🏼

It’s also why I said it is a lot more realistic but also kinda like a bit of a unicorn…. Coz this is wot it would or should look like ideally for modern romance. Think from Ep 1 to 31 in the drama is like they’ve only known one another for half a year… so the entire progress actually felt very natural because the editing was really smooth. Honestly speaking I didn’t pay any attention to when they got tog or didn’t get together coz the storyline progressed so smoothly. I was however quite surprised that they actually depicted for a full 10 episodes how real healthy couples interact, develop a relationship etc. From the top of my head I really can’t recall any C-dramas like that.

Like it’s really through and through a modern day drama. So the better comparison for the romance plot would be You are My Glory which I somehow also remember they only left us with very few episodes after they got tog…

I’m loving the series so far but the 1st episode was kinda a joke…. Like 🙄 that is about the most amateur and ridiculous kidnapping I’ve ever watched on tele.

So for those thinking of watching like give it more than 1 episodes, like watch at least 2 episodes. It’s really good!

The 1st episode was about a girl who got kidnapped…. Was quite ridiculous because he didn’t even tie her up…. Just left her totally free in such a fully furnished room AND bathroom…. How ridiculous is that… I mean him not confiscating her mobile phone from the get-go was already kinda a joke…

It’s only the 1st episode…. The first episode was a bit of a joke…. As in plot-wise…. I actually thought it was so unrealistic/illogical BUT…. All the cases are much better and realistic after the 1st episode. Also the overarching plot will build up, quite intriguing so far… curious to see wot it’s all about.
