No. The story itself looks really good. But I don’t mind BL. I watched the untamed before. Tbh most dramas I watch are either to support actors I like or just for the plot and rarely interested in the romance itself. Lol

Remember when Zhang Zehan got targeted because he played in Bl drama and his pictures surfaced of him posting in Japanese shrine diring China national day.

They gotta prepare for Chinese New Years. we cant have everyone be only thinking and trending Immortality 😹😹😹 You know how CCP is. There’s even fanclubs on weibo who reminds people a ban on entertainment day during china holiday or memorial’s day. So its not far off if they were told to take the post down in time for CNY, since Immortality been trending near a big important holiday. Even though its weeks away. Better safe than sorry.

Hahaha I mean right. When I first found out about this it looked so good cause I do care about the CGI and cinematography. I never read the book nor interested in BL but what mattered a lot was I’m a fan of Leo and Sebrina so I really want to watch this. As long as we like it. Like I still enjoy watching Harry
Potter even though the CGI is not up to date.

But like Cdrama CGI is getting better as long as production cost. And I remember a news about Immortality the person who worked on Ancient love poetry said that the editing for Immortality was taking long because of the special effects. So, I have high hopes that as long as it comes out this year it won’t fail in comparison to the newer released xianxias etc.

Depends on the production cost. I mean take for example LOTR, which took 8 years to film a trilogy, and until today the CGI is still good. Not the best but co considering how long it's been I say it's classic and many people still enjoy it.

Plus, this is an S+ drama from Tencent and I remember that the editing process took a long time not just because of the rule changes. There was even a backlash when one of the film editors was complaining about how difficult the editing was and working long hours IIRC. And 3 years is not too long. (I mean look at Avatar, of course this is not Avatar but just wanna say 3 years time wont make too big difference if production is high)

I feel like the average time it takes for a long drama to be filmed and edited is like 1-2 years. And depending if the actor is an A-list celebrity (or S+ drama) their dramas always get a time slot so it’s always aired immediately after editing is complete.

So, hopefully, this is the year. Also, as I said before if they do lift the bl drama ban, they need to strike while the iron is hot and release this ASAP since it's considered done and just waiting for approval.

I'm here to shed some hope.

Part of the reason why Bl drama got banned is because of all the craziness. Here is a couple of scenarios I can think of why the actors deleted their post:

1: Some fans are saying they are just riding the heat.
2: I think 🐧 are just trying to be careful (you know not to get ahead of themselves) with all the hype or the lifting of BL drama might fall through.
3: They wanted to test to see if people had forgotten HYX to test the waters. To prove that these drama/BL dramas are highly profitable.

All in all. If many bans are lifted and new Bl adaptations are in the making, we shouldn't worry because there is no way such a big production would not air. I think they wanna build anticipation (in case we forget and shut up all these haters saying to bury the drama) and then surprise us.🎈 🤡🎉🎊🪅🪩

Hopefully Netflix or Viki buys rights to stream it.

If the ban gets lifted anytime soon I can only assume from a business perspective that they would want to strike while the iron is hot since we all know how the NRTA is always hot/cold with their rules.

Yeah I agree that people are hating on actresses and production rather than blaming the real culprit. Which is those who make rules cause effeminate man are seen not good for society and because of obsessed fans who they see is getting bad influenced like they got nothing better to do. Its not just because of homosexuality

Some people like me are more interested in plot (so forgive me for being irritated at people who say they rather not have this live adapted, cause some of us like the actors/actresses and want to see it. Don't be selfish I know that novel readers are very anal. I get it) than the bl love so if you want erotic romance with bl then read the book cause that is not gonna past in adaptation live drama. be aware how homosexuality is seen as a taboo in CCP. So in the first place, it's going to be censored PERIOD.
Fans should see the book and drama version as a different thing especially when it has bl.

So regardless of shi me being a girl or not you won't get that bl romance you want. So just stop using it as an excuse.

I apologize for ranting. I'm just very fed up cause to many haters overreacting on weibo especially novel fans and antis stalking and hating on BL drama actresses/actors. Like wanting this drama to get buried because of the censorship but its not the actors fault for people to speak ill omen to a drama they worked hard on. These actors want their dramas to be aired more than any clowns here.
This drama is definitely going to air and I just hope novel fans can tolerate the adaptation as long as the plot remains intact and dont act low like anti fanwars. Or don't watch at all. Cause us actor fans will watch and support our artist works, thanks.
Btw don't blame the drama for being homophobic adaptation. That's another flame being thrown cause haters can use that as an excuse to think people involved in it's production have homophobic views. So blame the people who are actually responsible for the situation aka NRTA

Saying that is why the actress is getting unnecessary hate. Similar to how the actress in the untamed gets hate. Just because they changed shi mei gender dont mean itll hurt the main leads and story suddenly change to hetereo romance. Besides some creaders even thought shi mei was a girl at first because of the name.

The writer already said that what should and shouldnt be (like changing heteor to otp) so no need to worry. Besides you cant expect bl drama shown without censor in the first place. So mostly gonna be bromance.
And like the other comment stated changing shi mei to women is a way to avoid problems with the rules.

With all the protest going on they probably were like. Hmmmm bl dramas might distract them for awhile.

But it also realistic like the jail time and using other people or sub-company to take blame/scapegoat. Its a dirty practice that corporations do irl.

I also thought wtf did ex got one month sentence while freaking tong got 5. Than i realize its cause XBX didnt press charges/sue him thats why. Which pissed me off cause she the one being sorry and then even supporting him even though he was an ungrateful cheating husband who tried to kill her twice…. Its bad enough she didnt report him for stalking but gave him money instead. The last straw for me was when the ex was hella dramatic and was like if i wanted to kill you i wouldnt have waited for others to come. I FF most of the arc. 😂

Also about the wedding dress. Her having money problems for the reason she wore her moms wedding dress was merely a joke because through out the show she was having money problem.
The real reason i deduced why she wore her moms wedding dress is because the whole wedding seems to be a tribute/homage. Thats why she had her wedding in the steel mills canteen and she always loved her mother although never met her but throughout the show she always mentions her mother house that she left her. Which we can infer that whatever her mother left to her is important. So i assumed she also left that wedding dress, and its a common practice in asia especially poor family to hand down wedding dresses for generations. Although XBX is rich, she never forget where she came from. so its safe to assume that wedding dress is her mothers. Plus it cant be a mistake because we can compare her dress to Xinyi wedding dress which looked more modern.

They might not need/want to compete before but times have change. More people are getting interested in cdrama. We see more chinese apps globally translating dramas, also promoting them on yt from official page.

On another note Japan dont seem care to expand globally with their dramas as usu, aside from a few bad dramas on Netflix LOL

It was weird at first when it kept flipping back to flashback and present. But the story flows better after the flashbacks.

Based on previews, she is getting married at the steel mills canteen. I wouldn't be surprised if that wedding dress was her mother's. Sis got lots of debt to pay. 😂
