reading the comments i have to politely disagree with ppl saying it’s a “healthy” relationship. i wouldn’t go as far as to say their relationship is abusive or irredeemably unhealthy but saying it’s healthy is a stretch. hira has an issue with boundaries (ex. setting them and respecting them with the whole stalking thing) and kiyoi doesn’t view or act like hira is an equal, and the fact that hira is ok with being treated like that doesn’t make their relationship healthy. it just means his sense of self worth is so low it affects his relationships and what he thinks he deserves in them.
anyway, i’m sure their relationship will evolve to a more healthy place, and it will be interesting to watch that journey as well as their growth as individuals.
i’m weirdly intrigued by this series lol. i don’t usually like “bullying” or enemies to lovers kinda tropes but something about this is so interesting. i cant stop watching. hope someone drops a link for ep 3 soon
Or here tomorrow all 3 eps will be added https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nqsUaA-XNE&ab_channel=MBS%EF%BC%88%E6%AF%8E%E6%97%A5%E6%94%BE%E9%80%81%EF%BC%89
tbh i feel like it won’t have subs since it looks like that channel doesn’t have any subs on their other vids and they didn’t include even the english or romanticized title. fingers crossed tho
i really wanted to like this one because i like how the show deals with consent and other typical bl tropes, but i am getting really bored. i’m also not really feeling the chemistry between any of the leads.
honestly the teaser didn’t do much for me from that alone the show seems kinda whatever, but i’ll refrain from judging the whole series based off a 2 minute teaser and watch it when it airs
a bit disappointed in the mingkit scene. they didn’t even speak. i hope this isn’t all we get from their story in the upcoming season as well. looking back on it actually, while their story was enjoyable, it was a bit rushed. they left several things up in the air. most notable, they never really talked about beam and kit lying about dating after mingkit’s first kiss. they just dropped the issue. that feels a bit sloppy to me.
they left out book scenes that would have helped flesh out their characters as well in my opinion. for example, kit accidentally sending an ily sticker to ming.
also, i’m confused. what exactly happened to wayo. was he r*ped and drugged or was it only a hickey? there are 2 different versions of events according to a comment below and what someone said on twitter.
i think for people who have never read the book, there are a lot of instances where things are quite unclear like this. i don’t pay much attention to the other couples, but one example of this for me would be phayo’s first time. i dont think it needed to be more explicit or anything, but they could have said something that would have more clearly illustrated that they actually had sex opposed to just fooled around or something.
overall, i enjoyed the episode and the series of course! but yeah, these little issues have been bugging me.
I instantly forgot everything I've watched when I saw it.
ive been thinking that they’re the best actors on the series tbh. but like you said lol, it’s hard to separate bias.
either way, i think joong started off a bit rocky in the earlier episodes, but by now his acting is really good, second only to nine’s. and nine, well his micro expressions are amazing. he keeps improving every episode. by far the best actor of the cast.
Ok one thing they REALLY need to fix is the speed of the delivery of their lines. They take WAY too long to talk…
i honestly haven’t noticed LOL, but that may be bcs im only half paying attention while watching since i’m usually tweeting about the show while i wait for mingkit
i know they basically confirmed season 3, but i don’t feel too excited tbh lol. mingkit/joongnine are my favourite, and i don’t see them getting too much screentime. will be crossing my fingers tho
i honestly don’t care whether the show has kissing scenes or not; they’re not necessary for me to enjoy a romance, but the way people are talking about pretty simple physical expressions of affection (like deep kisses) in BL like it’s so sinful and obscene is really annoying and reads homophobic tbh. like is there all this debate and energy when it’s a straight drama? i don’t think so. people need to stop oversexualising everything gay.
anyway, i’m sure their relationship will evolve to a more healthy place, and it will be interesting to watch that journey as well as their growth as individuals.
maybe if the editing was tighter?
