S1 ends at a good point in the story.

Jing is my favorite, but I definitely cried for XL.

A lot of spoilers. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

In the book, Hou's wife gets poisoned by FFYY. Jing tells XY this and the whole story after she runs away from her wedding. She doesn't marry FL So, I am assuming JIng will tell the details to XY in S2 also.

XL decided to "kill" his FFB persona, so the last time anyone sees him, FFB, alive in when he runs away with XY at the wedding. He dies in the last chapter in the battlefield.

Then,, XY comes up with a plan to seduce Hou, but doesn't tell Jing exactly what she is doing she just asks him that whatever he hears to trust her. Once she seduces Hou, Hou gives her that red fish core jewel thing he caught which makes FFYY jealous and she asks Hou to meet in their secret place (they hadn't met since FFYY and Jing got married to cover their tracks), but I think Jing's foxy puts XY's mirror and it records the conversation. Once Jing goes to the elders, Hou (like moon said) throws FFYY under the bus. Hou is basically "banished' to Hao ling and FFYY is punished.

CX marries like 9 women, including Xin Yue, he hates all of his wives because he just wants XY and becomes a little possessive in S2. He makes things easier for Hou to murder Jing. XY grieves to the point she doesn't want to live, and doesn't even fight back the first time someone tries to murder her (well, second time if we count the cherry/plum blossom incident).

I've been laughing from episode 1 at DyW portrayal of the dragon king and then I read this description,"impression of an overdressed plank", in your review. It made me chuckle because that has been my impression also. I also agree that the main leads have no chemistry, but he seems to have more watchable interactions with the rest of the cast. I'm only on episode 8, but I can already tell, the second couple will be my reason for pushing through this drama. Thank you for a great, spoiler free review.

Me too!! I'm so happy his CP is #1 though. I hope that if he's feeling bad because of the personal attacks that this can serve as a buffer.

I don't feel any chemistry between the main leads.

So far, I am seeing Dylan Wang is stiff as heck. I don't know if the character is like that or it's just his interpretation.
