I really love that most of the actors weren't dubbed over and that they're using their OG voices from the filming set.

It's her voice. She dubbed herself in a drama after a really long time of using voice actors

There's probably some romance but it's not the main genre of the story

It was Flourished Peony..Yang zi and Li Xian's drama. It must have been a very hard choice to turn down an S+ drama with A-listers because it rationally might have brought him more recognition than Blossom (which people didn't expect to be so successful) but I'm glad it worked out so well for him in the end

The novel this drama is based on was written before the LLTG novel

I dunno how true this is. The word on douban is that his agency is defunct and he has been running his own personal studio since then. Probably take this with a grain of salt

True but I still believe the set up was better in the book.

I know Song Han has always been meant to be one of the show's villains but I think it would have been better if they kept his backstory in the book instead of changing it to what it currently is in the show. His late turn into villainy in the 3rd Act of the show isn't very convincing and it doesn't make much sense to continue to go down that path of since his father, the major contributor to his misfortune is dead. While, it's okay to show that he has some resentment for Song Mo for destroying his fantasy of having an idyllic family by refusing to stop investigating their father's involvement in Madam Jiang's death, in my opinion, the motivation for outright villainy just isn't enough here.

I think it's your own opinion that facts and numbers don't care about. The fact is that this drama is great judging by the rave reviews it's receiving here and on Douban. Besides the number of people watching it domestically already speaks for itself.
Your initial complaint was about the ML simping and now it's about the plot twist not being good enough. I dunno what you're watching but the plot hasn't even advanced far enough for there to be a plot twist. If you want to validly criticize a drama then at least give constructive criticism

If you enjoy male harem dramas then watch Joy of Life, Immortal Ascension or Guardians of the Dafeng. I dunno why you're complaining that the FL lead has a lot of admirers in a drama targeted to the female audience

I love how unlike other dramas we get the filler-like episodes in the middle of the show. Most dramas start with so much filler that you either drop it in the beginning or if you stick around, you get blindsided a bit when the action, drama and tragedy start happening
