This reminded me of Love Your Enemy because both of these shows are at its best when they show their younger selves, both have amazing teenage actors portraying their roles and where the flashbacks are so good that they feel like standalone movies. I'm really not interested in the present story so I'm dropping it. Same happened with Love Your Enemy too.
Such a solid binge watch! And the opening song is a banger. I did however come to realize, not only with this jdrama but in general, that I can’t emotionally connect to Japanse culture often having deep ties to their high school days or high school classmates. My own experience is the complete opposite so it makes it hard to immerse myself in the story sometimes. We don’t weigh our high school experience so highly here and people would be weirded out if you act all friendly if you haven’t seen them in a long time. It’s a concept that I find a bit hard to grasp.
Didn’t recognize Koshiba Fuka in the poster at all until I looked at the cast. She looks like a whole different person whenever she's in another style it's so interesting. I’m 2 episodes in now and she’s carrying this show. Entertaining to watch for her role alone.
Alright I think I’m dropping this show after 7 episodes. I lost interest, mostly because of the terrible writing. They’re doing the female lead extremely dirty. She doesn’t feel like her own person, she’s constantly on the hunt for her love interest or says and does the most out of pocket things. The male lead deserves better. The secondary characters are just not good either. I can’t believe this is made by the Hong sisters because it genuinely feels like the first work of an immature scriptwriter :/ It’s a shame because the general idea behind this show is great
My thoughts after having seen 5 episodes so far: I love that the majority of the drama takes place abroad. Beautiful scenery and you can tell that they have the budget for this level of cinematography. The plot however is kind of all over the place. I’m not a fan of how their first meeting was set up with the female lead chasing her ex and the way they also make her come across too desperate all throughout the show. I did like the concept of her getting famous overnight after her accident and thought they would lean into that more but it feels like her level of fame died down at this point which is unfortunate. I’m also not feeling much chemistry between the leads or even with the Japanese actor. I’m entertained but it’s an average likable show that won’t stick with me after finishing it probably. Nice to kill some time with though. The selling point is genuinely them filming it abroad for me.
I'm on episode 11 right now, but I'm getting bored watching this drama, and I don't know if I should drop it or…
I forced myself to finish but felt the same way, it's really not worth it if you're already bored honestly. I thought it had its fun moments but it's way too long
Except it's not in the original dub so I muted the video while playing the actual one in the background
