sooo... right when they're about to enter uni you decide to drop it? LOL ok.. GJ getting to this point thoEdit:…
Past is important but there needs to be balance. Dragging the flashbacks can get tedious because people already know the end result, so they needed to show what actually happened between the two without dragging it out. This show has 12 episodes (at least according to this page), they've already used up 7 (I've seen 5 but reading the comments here, episode 6 and 7 are also based in the past) of those for the past. So they have 5 episodes left, which may cause the present storyline to get immensely rushed.
I kept posting about it on the feed and some have noticed. I think that’s what we need to do, promote this ourselves…
OMG LMFAO I was expecting something like "Nadia's a bitch and breaks Mayom's heart" or something like "Nadia backstabs Tawan" but damn lmao I didn't expect that. So they changed the character gender. So weird. lol
Dropping this. I'm sorry I really wanted to watch this but there's just too much flashback and montage. They could've ended the high school part in just like 2 episodes and focused on the present but no, they had to prolong it. It just keeps going on and on and on and it's just not fun.
Edit: I just saw that New directed this. Okay no wonder it's so draggy and full of montage. New needs to stop making BL and ruining stories.
I just watched the trailer and I'm in love with the cast. lol And I'm intrigued by the story of Mork and Tawan as well as Mayom and Nadia (they remind me of Jake and Kim from My Day!!!). I have giant expectation from this and it looks like a well made show too.
Why does he never play a lead role? Like he's very popular, is versatile, has appeared in many prolific shows and has a huge group of celeb friends. Yet he never plays lead. Wtf?
1. There are many people saying Solo's father's a crimelord (there are even some who're saying he wants to kill…
+100. I feel the same. It feels SO unnecessary. We could've focused completely on SoloGui and PhuKao OR they could've had Khun C-Jay as well if they wanted a third couple or Sun-Noh (Noh's one of the friend of Gui and Sun is his partner in the book, very minor roles though).
There have been a lot of misinformation/misunderstanding regarding many plot elements of this show spread by people…
1. There are many people saying Solo's father's a crimelord (there are even some who're saying he wants to kill Gui wtf). THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. Solo's father is actually the owner of a huge Hotel Empire based in England. He wants Gui out of Solo's life because he wants Solo to go back to England to learn and handle the business and he believes Gui will hold him back. In the book once he meets Gui, he actually approves of Gui quite fast and he even encourages Gui as to how to stay with Solo. As hinted in the latest episode, Gui is approaching his graduation so he WILL graduate soon and start working at Solo's father's company as an intern. But he ends up going back to university to study BBA/MBA so he can be besides Solo after taking some advice from Solo's father, Khun C. Also Khun C's actually not that old, he married young so he had Solo young. He's like in his late 30s-early 40s only iirc.
The actual crime lord in the books is Kao's father, albeit he's not a cruel, violent crimelord unless it involves Kao. He's very affectionate of Kao and he's the type who'd hurt anyone who hurts his little Kao (yes he has some kind of weird complex, it weirds me out in the book as Kao still sits on his lap when he meets the father in the book and Kao's a full ass grown adult!). That's how the 3 guys who hit Kao ended up in hospital. I don't like the Kao-his father dynamics in the novel honestly, it's not cute and it's plain weird. Sorry.
2. Jay is not a thug. Jay's a friend of Solo's mother, who after her death stayed with Solo as his sole friend but had to go accompany Khun C (Solo's father) as he saw how lonely Khun C was as compared to Solo (who had his friends). In the novel he's in love with Khun C and they end up becoming a couple of sorts at the end of first book as hinted through the special chapters.
3. Some people think Solo fell in love with Gui after he entered the cafe and drank the milk. That's actually not what happens. Solo's actually a very shy boy. He didn't decide to pursue Gui on the day he entered the cafe. He has POV chapters early on in the book that explains why he fell for Gui. He actually had been watching Gui for some time even before he talked to him. Solo's mother's death had left him jaded and alone as his father would always be working. He had trouble sleeping after the trauma. That's when he first saw Gui's smile and it basically entranced him and he had been watching over Gui since then until he gathered the courage to enter the cafe and finally talk to Gui.
4. This one bothers me the most tbh because some people claim they have read and book and are spreading this false information -> Khim and Khem does NOT end up with Petch and Perth respectively in the books. Why? BECAUSE THEY DON'T EXIST IN THE BOOK. I've read SOOO many comments on YT as well as here where people claim they end up together in the book. That's not what happens. Khim DOES exist in the book, but she's a VERY minor character and ONLY APPEARS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK. She has no appearances after that. On the other hand Khem, Petch and Perth does not exist. So basically even us book readers don't know how this storyline goes.
5. This is another major change in the show -> Linda. Linda is actually Khun C's assistant in the novel and is in a one sided love with him. She's Khun C's acquaintance's daughter (the father is a lot older than Khun C) who took her as an assistant after he asked him to. She's very spoilt and bratty in the book and is the type who looks down on everyone and is severely rude to anyone. Solo immensely hates her in the book. For the show they have changed this character to be a promised fiance to Solo (possibly by his father without Solo's knowing or approval). They also seemed to have changed her personality as shown in the trailer as she's actually shown to be polite towards Gui (she's so not polite in the book to her competitor i.e Jay). The book doesn't have any major dramas at all so it's doubtful the author would approve of major dramas in the show as well so I don't believe she'll cause any major problems.
6. Solo and Phu are NOT cousins. Solo and Phu's fathers are business acquaintances and they're more of friends. Phu has 1 brother only - Parm. Who also has suffered a lot of tragedy in his past and is the lead in the 3rd book of the series (Anakin) opposite to Solo's friend Jedi. The translation of their book has ended (although the Special chapters are yet to be translated) and their book is IMO the best book in the series. Jedi-Parm are also adults in the books (28-30) and occurs like a decade after Oxygen.
There have been a lot of misinformation/misunderstanding regarding many plot elements of this show spread by people who have not read the books. I'll try to clear up some of them below (it's all spoilers so tread at your own risk!) as someone who has read Oxygen, Nitrogen, Anakin, a little of Aftermoon (and spoilers about 3Kings lol):
Bisexuality exists you know. Also Khun C forced Linda on Solo. Also Linda in the trailer is a not a caricature.…
"Nobody ever says, "I'm not gay, I'm bisexual"" - Yes some characters HAVE said that in BLs. Take the e.g of Mean's character in UWMA, he says he's bisexual from the get go. Not to mention most characters in BLs can basically be termed pansexual or at least bisexual because many do exclaim they don't care about the sex of the person they're in love with.
"but I can't help but wonder why you're following me around being rude to a stranger about a fluffy BL fantasy" - Are you for real??? You're the one who replied to be TWICE in this same page out of nowhere, calling me out with your misinformation about Solo's father, Linda etc. etc. Never ONCE did I start a convo with you. You replied to be in both the threads. I'm not invested in it, you're the one who's invested in this. In fact you even as much as admitted in the other comment thread you replied to me in.
