I believe he's supposed to be a youth who has yet to mature, sometimes childish even. He's the youngest and his family dote on him. I think Ding Yuxi is portraying his character very well here.

After FL left him for good, yeah, he became soft toward her with regrets, but it was too late by then.

They were estranged for like nearly 2 decades because FL doesn't want anything to do with him anymore.

They'll change it in the drama, no worries. Even the main plot is different. But yeah, the novel ML is a jerk. 😂

It's the antidote to the poison that gives/removes spirit veins. They have to be taken in pair, and without the antidote, it's certain death.

Spirit veins are something ppl born with naturally. This poison can artifically create it, so ppl knowingly want to take it. So, they need the antidote, Golden Millet Dream.

Ming Yi's case was the reverse from above. She was born with spirit veins, so the poison removes it. So, she looks for the Golden Millet Dream to survive and fix her spirit veins.

ML is a black flag womanizing bastard, does all the despicable stuffs you can imagine to FL. Manipulation, intimidation, coercing, abuse, force himself on her... hell, FL's response toward him for more than half of the story was 'fear'. Even in today's trailer, we can see hints of it. They'll definitely tone him down for sure.

Main story really picks up only after ep 5-6. So, give it a try till then if you feel like it.

It's 36 episodes total, not 32.

But, for the popular ongoing ones I'm following, I watch the previews just to counter the spoilers on my social media feeds... I would rather spoil myself than got sneak attacked spoiled while doom scrolling 😂

Emperor of Yaoguang looks pretty muddle headed. Doesn't think about retaining their strongest warrior and actively driving her away. Good luck climbing out of the lower realm, stay there forever with your beloved son. xD

Honestly, not sure what you even watched. Train with what spirit veins? Train harder and die faster, or die in a year regardless?

From my view, she never led the 2ML on, didn't flirt with him, always kept a distance. Everything she received so far was forced onto her. I think she's pretty clear cut from the get go.

Feng Xiyang and Xia Jingyan was the ship I did not see it coming, yet I totally dug it.

Me at the beginning of the drama would not have believed I would sob for these 2 by the end of the drama. Excellent character development and writing really. And I loved how the writers wrapped up their story as well. Totally fit the overall story and characters.

Finally finished and I'm gonna miss this drama dearly. This is a seriously well rounded drama with so many memorable moments, great characters, excellent pacing, and an ending with no loose ends while many other dramas are fumbling the mid story or rushing the ending.

Credit goes to the whole crew because everyone did their parts perfectly. This is definitely going to the top of my recommendation list to others.

You can find it on mydramanovel since the novel was already adapted into a drama. It's MTL though, but pretty okay.

Yea, many elements won't pass censorship and even if pass, some elements will still be up for potential backlash from viewers. I'm sure they'll change FL and ML characterizations to become more palatable to drama viewers, like Prisoner of Beauty did with Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao.

I like the novel for what it is though.

I came to like Jingxiu crazy couple lol. Same vibe, same energy. Truly a match made in heaven. 🤣🤣🤣
