9 rating? Bots are working overtime on this. The fact that it has the same rating as Hidden Love is hilarious.
I mean, doesn't that also mean people enjoy this type of story?
This is a good drama and why shouldn't it get this rating? And you might not have seen how many trolls and haters rated this down even before the episodes air. Bots allegations can go both ways.
Same author. Shared universe. Different story. The First Frost is the story about Sang Yan (Sang Zhi's brother)…
You commented an article regarding that in the other comment. Yes, that was the perspective from the actor's part, and production did the correct casting choice as well.
Sang Yan character in HL and TFF are very different sides of the same coin. So, it's best to go in with a fresh perspective into TFF. Sang Yan in TFF is still the arrogant and fun brother in front of his sister, but he is entirely different when around his love interest which was not explored in HL.
How is this connected with Hidden Love? It seems like it's based on a Novel, I'm assuming it's by the same author?

The First Frost is the story about Sang Yan (Sang Zhi's brother) and Wen Yifan. TFF and Hidden Love share some characters and some events, but stories are unrelated.
For novel readers, they completely ruined it. I mean, I don’t understand why they can’t make a show where…
I'm a novel reader as well, and personally, I'm more than satisfied with this adaptation. They explored a lot of Sang Yan's side, made Yi Fan more nuanced, and added a lot of beautiful extra stuffs. The HK arc? Would have been nice to see the original Yihe arc of course, but drama's implementation had its purpose and isn't bad either.
But, to each their own I guess. I had fun while watching, connected with the characters well, and had a beautiful drama watching experience. That's all that matters for me.
I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to be on Netflix. I really wanna rewatch them all on there cause the…
I'm also waiting for Netflix to drop all episodes for the rewatch. Meanwhile, re-reading novel extra chapters for the giggles. I just can't with Yifan's antics. xD

Oh, Wen Yifan was my favorite character in this drama as well. Zhang Ruonan absolutely slayed her role here. I agree with you, she's beautiful in a natural way. This was my very first drama of hers, and I instantly became a fan.
Keep watching, and hope you find this drama interesting. There are many swoon-worthy and sweet moments scattered throughout the drama as well, so it's not just doom and gloom.
Guys i'm at ep 2 rn and I'm still not feeling this drama nor getting intrigued, does it get better later onwards…
The First Frost is completely different from Hidden Love. TFF is a slow burn mature romance with melancholic vibe. There will be lots of emotional moments and angsts. So, it would be better to set the expectation right to fully enjoy this beauty of a drama.
I suggest you give it a try for about 5-10 episodes, because the story picks up gradually after initial episodes. The pay off at the finale was very much worth the journey.
Watched L&P while waiting for new episodes of The First Frost. Now I'm spoiled hard by two of the best modern CDramas out there... what do I even watch next to fill the void. Everything seems paler in comparison now...
I plan to watch this drama, Kindly give me spoiler regarding1. When is the main couple officially together?2.…
1. They get together by ep 18-19 2. No breakup. But there's a period of separation for reasons you'll find out as you watch the drama. 3 & 4. Separation last for 2 episodes (25-27), and time skip of 6 months. 5. No 2ML or 2FL syndrome. Both leads are into each other only. Though, there's some annoying pursuer of FL. But, it doesn't take long to be resolved. 6. No ex for both either 7. Very happy ending. Well wrapped up and very satisfactory.

Would have watched it sooner if I was aware of it 😂

"No dimples. You didn't help. You won’t even help me with this little favor. " 🤣🤣
Hope Sang Liuchu gets dimples from her dad.
