I will never forgive that 6 month separation!! I’m just finishing it cause I hate starting dramas and not finishing…
No. In the novel, it was like this. - Sang Yan flew to Yihe after having an argument with Yifan - A few days later, Yifan followed to Yihe and had a talk with Sang Yan (what we saw in Ep27)
The narrative were different between the novel and drama. In the novel, it was focused on Yifan coming to realization and coming to terms on her own.
In the drama, the script gave Sang Yan time to learn about bits and pieces of Yifan past on his own during the 6 months duration. And at the same time, also gave Yifan time to come to terms with herself (similar to novel in this part). In the novel, Sang Yan basically didn't learn anything about Yifan's past until Yifan told it to him.
I'm a novel reader as well, and I don't mind the change the drama did. It depends on individual perspective.
Tell Sang Yan or her friends? May be, she'll get there eventually on her own terms.Tell her superior about her…
This is a drama, so that will come naturally in coming episodes.
However, this is a character with deep psychological trauma and issues. What we as 3rd person think 'normal and proper' doesn't feel the same for them. Even in this page, users with real PTSD are sharing their own accounts and take on this topic. I don't think I can explain this any clearer than them.
My own take here is that Yifan's actions aren't necessarily the best choice, but what she did was realistic and in line with her character, definitely someone with her conditions would choose to do in real life as well. And I respect the drama for going this route instead of sugarcoating this topic.
why shuangjiang so stupid, she can call the police, can tell her superrior in work and tell Sang yan everything...…
Tell Sang Yan or her friends? May be, she'll get there eventually on her own terms.
Tell her superior about her past? I'm not Yifan, but I would definitely not be comfortable with divulging my past to my colleagues at work.
Call police? The uncle hasn't done anything recently other than had a couple verbal disputes and confrontation with her. Call police for that? May be some amount of fine or a restraining order at best, and she knows damn well that doesn't guarantee her safety and that of people around her.
Heck, even when that creep tried to r*pe her back then and the police did arrive to the scene, the charge was dropped by her own family member. Do you expect calling police is a viable solution at her current situation?
It's been a while but it's just because they changed the male lead leaving yifan to yihe - yifan leaving to HK…
In the novel, Yifan and Sang Yan had an argument because Yifan kept secret about the uncle's harassment from Sang Yan. The next day, Sang Yan had to fly to Yihe for Sang Zhi's matter.
Later, Yifan followed to Yihe and ended up opening up about her past to Sang Yan and they reconciled.
If that bitch (no, I refuse to call this woman a MOM)gets a redemption arc, I swear I’m booking a flight to…
Even in present day, in today's episode, she casually dismissed when the police contacted her about Yifan missing. She isn't even trying as much as she claims to be.
It's been sitting stable at 8.9 for quite a long time now. May be you checked it on the day the drama starts airing? Score counts tend to be low on the first day so rating can be skewed to either sides.
saw these on Twitter/X: "the novel plot is not that good cuz he left to yihe cuz he gets angry on yifan becoz…
Yup, that's exactly what happened in the novel. Sang Yan basically didn't learn any of Yifan's past like he did in the drama, until Yifan opens up her past to him.
They changed the main plot—a mistake, a colossal mistake. There was a reason the book was a success. That's…
I consume both forms of medium, novels and dramas. In my opinion, it's unrealistic to expect an adaptation will be 1:1 of the source material. So, as long as the narrative of the adaptation is logical within itself and doesn't lose the original flavor of the source material, some amount of artistic license is acceptable for me.
Of course, that's for me. I don't expect others to share the same view as well.
For TFF, I love both the novel and drama for what they are. I might find a tiny bit sad at some moments where some scenes from the source material didn't make it to the screen. But, that doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the drama as long as it's doing well, and at the same time look forward to any drama original additions to surprise me as well.
Generally speaking, sometimes, some changes dramas made makes them even better than the source materials at instances.
I just finished ep 24 and have not seen ep 25 yet. I am not as mad as I thought I would be. I feel the director…
My thoughts exactly as well. I never expected a 1:1 representation of the source material to begin with.
I can understand why the drama did what it did. It didn't break Yifan character for me, so that's all that matters. And the drama perfectly delivered one of the most important plots of this story today as well. Kudos to ZRN really.
Did I dislike how they changed Ep24 from the novel? May be a tiny bit, but doesn't matter that much.
Did it change my overall opinion on this drama? No. It's still as much enjoyable as before.
All that mattered was ZRN slayed in Ep25! That was how I imagined while reading that scene in the novel, and she brought it to life perfectly. All those emotions in her eyes!
And, we are getting back on track tomorrow. Sooo looking forward to ep26 and 27!
Imo, drama version is more cathartic because there was a build up on Sang Yan's side as well.

Joke aside, as you are more than half way finished, will you be sticking till the end now that it's definitely not lighthearted?
