Both stories share the same universe. So, they share many characters and there are a couple instances of reference to each other. But, other than that, they are separate stories and both stories take place almost parallelly in terms of timeline, and one doesn't have any impact to the other.

The drama is a good adaptation to me, though there are some changes.

As usual with the novels, you get to read more about the inner dialogues of the characters, some of which were lost when adapting into drama.

So, I love both the novel and drama for what they are.

I think I know the photo you are referring to. I'm afraid it was cut out in the final edit and was just intended to use it as promo only. At this point of the story, chance of it appearing on screen is almost none existence now since that plot was already covered in ep7.

You mean the scene where Sang Yan asked Sang Zhi to trick Wen Yi Fan to invite her on an ice cream date? That was already shown in ep7.

Exactly. If one is not mentally prepared for the existence of a child from your love interest's side, or does not like children in general, that could be a deal breaker for many.

Also, some people prefer to deal with this kind of situation in a round about way first, and confronting their love interest directly is the last thing in their check list. FL's action may be dramatized, but not unfounded imo.

There are actual people out there who respond to this kind of situation in similar manner. Confronting straight to their love interest is the last thing they would do due to awkwardness, shyness, and saving face.

From that perspective, FL action may be dramatized a bit since it's a drama, but not that far fetched imo.

Wen Yi Fan is my favorite character in this story. Once you get her perspective, there are a lot of layers in her character, and it brings so much depths to the story at the same time instead of the typical boy chase girl story. And, I love this story for it.

I'm crying even at the confession scenes, because it was so beautiful! T_T

Sang Yan will eventually learn about it when they are in Yihe.

Remember Sang Yan's visit to Sang Zhi in Yihe and had a fight with Duan Jiaxu in Hidden Love? Yes, that's the time frame Sang Yan also learn about Wen Yi Fan's matter fully.

Oh, I watch on my PC in the living room, and I didn't dare to watch today's episodes until my roommate is out. I knew I would be grinning like a fool, and that's exactly what I did the entire duration of ep17 and 18. lol

Ok.. Ep8 ending really got me. Knew this was coming, but still got me hard. lmao 😂😂😂

It's a slow burn romance with melancholic tone. FL is someone with severe trauma and ML tries to get close to her again by being an absolute green flag of a support.

If it's something you might like, it's really good. Give it a try for a couple episodes.
