Painter of the Night is one of the most complex and emotional manhwas I've ever read, even though the series was short and in straight form, he still did well in portraying the character

Let's just say, if you've read the manhwa and liked it, then you should definitely watch this and will also like it, even though it is a very very condensed version but the gist is there

Yeah, just as with ARTTL, I didn't enjoy the story at all. But I actually preferred the ending in ARTTL, which ended sadly, I thought that was an ending befitting of these two and of the story. Having them in a happy ending just felt weird to me

Very well analysed. But tbh I also thought FX was pretty unredeemable lol just cuz YSL is too good for him hahaha, but if YSL accepts FX then I'm good with him

Agreed, but I found FX x YSL's relationship so so much more interesting

If I'm being honest, I actually liked ARTTL's ending more than this, it just fit the tone of the story much better, and I just don't see how these two can get an HE

I beg to differ, Yi Cheng did not deserve that gunshot, nor any of the horrible things Lu Feng did to him. Granted, yes, YiCheng was conflicted himself and didn't want to leave, but LF had literally inflicted a long period of both physical and mental abuse on YC.

LF landing in temporary jail was YC's fault, but who can blame YC when he watched his mom die because of their relationship and LF's careless slip of tongue, watched his brother being sent to hospital becase of LF, all happening at the same time. YC probably barely had the headspace to consider LF going back to the US meant him giving up everything for YC. At that point, YC's priority was satisfying his mother, who he probably felt guilty af being part of the reason she's lying in the hospital bed in the first place.

I don't like either of these characters, they're both greatly flawed, and life had not been fair towards them. But no, I don't blame YC for any of his actions.

I thought it was generally quite well done, but there are definitely some easily identifiable bad parts which made it less enjoyable

It's still a good series and so worth it for the bromance and cases, but yeah she annoyed the heck out of me, and that forced romance plot ..

Very heavy 'My Roommate is a Detective' vibes, but without the annoying FL (for now)

I can see that they definitely have chemistry, but FL is basically a cheater (and a liar) and ML is a criminal lol

Arghh Eo Heung is just so sweet, FL just doesn't deserve him running around like that and putting himself in danger when she had plenty of chances to go back to him if she wanted to ..
