I like this theory, and thought of it, too. Except, the boss dies at the entrance of the building. He never makes it up to the 5th floor. Nobody does. So I'm thinking, it has to be ML going back in time. But he's doing it from some time in the future after he's developed the scar on his neck.

On the third hand, I don't think FL's savior is ML's boss who died. He was crushed by falling debris at the entrance of the school. He never made it up to the 5th floor. Nobody did. Which means, ML might be the only one who could save FL.

That was another thought I had, too. He needs to NOT go back to I-Na being born. He needs to jump to wherever FL is. If she's in the burning school, then he could save her, as opposed to having to run all the way from the hospital to the school. But then, why the yellow door in the hospital room if it's never going to work? I hope the writers clear this up. My mind is working overtime trying to figure this out.
