This.. I also had the same response to another critic on the site. I understood it.. even in ep 12, while things…
Thank you! I mentioned you in my later post above. But no worries, fingers crossed! I am sure that there will be something more up for Pat and Pran to close as the remaining unfinished issues.
Don't forget to leave your reviews! (Will post my review sometime today a.k.a. Monday)
And you can also rate each review by choosing whether they are useful to you or not. I am aware that there are a few troll reviews there, just as there were in the very beginning of this series (first three episodes).
And you should have also told GMMTV that Bad Buddy is #1 most commented in MDL among all series that are now airing/completed airing! (when you reached out to them earlier on) :D
Somebody made four GENERAL reviews, one for each episode starting from episode 1, giving a score of 1 to all of…
It happened early in the series and now as well. Some people are just hard to be pleased and are desperate to bring down a great series no matter what.
But let's calm down and keep on sharing our thoughts here rationally. That's the best way to prove to the trolls and naysayers out there.
State of Bad Buddy Report (YouTube total of all four parts per episode - rounded to closest thousand)

EP 2 has joined the 10 million views episodes, and EP 3, 6 and 9 are close to this target too. The earlier episodes have seen quite a bit of increase over the weekend. And EP 1 Part 1/4 in YouTube is almost at 5 million views as of this point.

I see a lot of people hating on the last ep (which is why the rating dropped) and I have a few things to say towards…
Novel ending was very happy too. It ended happily for both of them. But what is missing is that, their relationship was out in the open in the novel, and both parents accepted them.
This hasn't happened yet in the series version. That's why I think at least a special episode is necessary to show this.
I feel bad for Pat in Ep 12, when he said that he wants to enter Pran's house normally. But I'm already imagining…
Haha I don't think they knew that their parents figured it out yet. But they were already at the age and in the position to be much less worried if their parents do find out about them. They themselves knew that their two feuding parents had also loosened up to each other.
Pat and Pran has been hiding their friendship and budding relationship since their childhood. Thanks to Abeham for sharing my thoughts as well.
Those parallel scenes to their childhood in EP 12 showed just that. It's sad that they had to endure doing that for so long, but that's what they did best, while still trying their best to be the best lover for each other.
They had endured that three years painful separation before. They would do anything even to trick their parents and friends, just to avoid that happening again and for them to have their happy ending, not immediately, but in the years to come. What is 4 years against their 15 years or so growing up in hiding their friendships all that while?
I am not so much of a book reader so I doubt I can get myself to read the novel. But I'm still curious to know…
I will probably post it in the discussion too. So everyone else can see it too. I am sure many will come back here, and many more will come to discover this series.
Pran making the commitment to work in Singapore for 2 years and be financially successful ('Mom, the tower I designed is built in Marina Bay area' - a very prestigious achievement for Pran) and Pat mentioning that he himself had to get something to do and to earn money.
All those sacrifices they made for that four years are on top of them having to hide their relationships from most people. Pran had not been able to see Pat for a whole year (some of us may have missed out that part/not thought much about it and focused too much on the five minutes just the sentence after). All those things so that they can be financially independent and do not need to depend so much on their family anymore.
(Someone mentioned that Pat could have just flown over to Singapore to meet Pran. But don't forget, they are both already working, and it mustn't have been easy for Pat and Pran both to navigate their new work. I myself know how difficult it can be working as a new employee, and I am sure many of us know it well too. Plus, him flying over to Singapore would be too obvious. Both parents would have known, and Pat and Pran won't want that.)
They may still need to hide, but at least they now have their own home and love nest, and they have the means to survive on their own, unlike when they ran away to the zero-waste village four years ago with literally nothing on them (in EP 11). They don't need to hide as much as before.
And versus the novel, what is good is that, unlike Pat's family who forced and in fact, guilt-tripping him to marry his dad's benefactor's daughter, his parents in this series did not do that. And neither did Pran's family.
(I love the novel a lot, and its story is amazing, one of the best out there. But the series, personally to me, had upped their game by a huge margin)
We waited for 7 days, was worried and anxious to see if Pat and Pran end up happily. Some of us jumped and were not so happy when we realised that we had been tricked by them, or thought that the finale was less than satisfactory.
Pat and Pran waited for four years before they could (probably) have a glimpse of their parents (especially Pat's dad and Pran's mum) beginning to accept their love for each other.
Yes, they remained lovers behind the scene (which blends with the novel title well), but I am sure they certainly wanted to reveal it to all. They are still waiting for the time when they can just reveal it to all. They have a very happy ending, but there is still that little bit of sadness to me, that they still had to wait to be lovers in the open.
To us the audience, we know that their parents, including Pat's dad and Pran's mum had accepted them, but Pat and Pran hadn't really known it yet. (Pran might have known somewhat when he found his guitar in his room - Pran's mum placed it there).
If you put yourselves in their shoes, then you realise that they were still worried somewhat (Pat lamenting and joking how he had to keep on using that window 'expressway'), but of course they didn't let those thoughts affect them much. They believed in each other that much. They believed that nothing will separate them and break their love.
I hope that we will get at least get a special (long) episode (we'll be patient in waiting for this) or a potential second season, for them to finally be able to reveal their love to each other openly, and for their parents to be fully reconciled with each other (for Ming to have that time to have a heart to heart talk with Dissaya and apologise to her for his past mistakes).
Let us continue sharing our thoughts here as we patiently wait for the next chapter in their story.
I just want to say that when Pat and Pran looked sad and especially Pat cried at the end of EP 11, it was actually real. They might have tricked their parents by the fake break-up, however, as someone else also mentioned in Twitter, that to do so also meant that they had to hide their relationship once again, not only from their parents but also from their friends, everyone else except Wai, Korn, Ink and Pa.
Why Pat cried in particular? That's because he was always the one who wanted to proclaim to the whole world about his relationship with Pran (look back at EP 8). It must have been difficult for him to choose that path. But he did, because he loved Pran all the way, and believed that they could endure everything together.
#BelieveinPatandPran
The fact that he willingly agreed to such a plan with Pran after those beautiful talk and moments at the beach (especially in EP 11 Part 4 early part), showed just how much his character has matured and grown. Not that before this he wasn't mature, but in building his relationship with Pran, both of them have learnt to complement each other and learnt to do their best to find the best path for them.
When they looked back on those memories in EP 12, they were happy because on a hindsight to them, everything turned out well and as they wanted it to be. But back then, although they must have been confident in committing to that plan, they must still have fears and concerns as they entered their house back in ending of EP 11.
Bad Buddy was told from their POV, so based on their POV at the end of EP 11, the angst and sadness was real, worrying what if their parents wouldn't believe them and do something drastic to separate them further, but when they realised that their parents fell for their trick, and later on them looking back at this from four years later, those smiles made perfect sense.
Do you think that we are the only ones who want a happy ending for Pat and Pran? Pat and Pran themselves wanted happy ending to themselves too! They had to make sacrifices to make that happy ending a reality.
(Remember when they were talking about their parents, during the scene when Pat's dad and Pran's mum and their cars were blocking each other? They said that not every story had a happy ending)
Thank you for mentioning us too! :D
