Actually if you hover over the 8.6 rating, the average rating for those who completed and are currently watching the show has been going up quite a bit since yesterday, even those who dropped the series too.
I'm thinking it may be MDL server not able to handle all the sudden influx in ratings and reviews that came after the finale, so I won't be surprised if later this weekend, the rating will rebound to show the true rating. It should be at least 8.9 if not 9.0.
Waiting for the longest time to change my profile pic (my previous one was just a placeholder), to see if there is a series worth changing it to.
Havenât found it after all the series I have been watching so far until Bad Buddy (PatPran and OhmNanon simply surpassed all my previous favourites by a lot).
And waiting for longest time to the finale to finally decide that itâs #PatandPranForever for me. This one (and maybe other Pat and Pran pics) will be my permanent profile pic.
Just curious - is Big Buddy as popular as Together the Series? I havent seen Together during its peak popularity…
BrightWin was massively helped by the pandemic, and that explained the much larger viewership they received.
But Bad Buddy has been doing really well too. It is now having almost 110 million views in YouTube just after finishing its airtime, which is very likely the fastest among all the other Thai BL series (GMM and non-GMM) during airing, when 2gether isnât included in the comparison (which means yes, Bad Buddy is the 2nd highest during airtime)
And I am sure Bad Buddy will continue to gain more viewers in the future, as many out there may not even be aware of it yet, unlike 2gether. So its potential is tremendous.
Not to say that BrightWin arenât good, but for me OhmNanon trumps them in many if not all categories of comparisons.
But is Pran staying for good or going back to singapore?
Heâs only working there for 2 years, so based on him having waited for 1 year to meet Pat again, it will be just one more year before he can be reunited fully with Pat.
For those who see a rating of 8.6, please donât be upset. MDL is often known to give lower ratings for a series, especially something like Bad Buddy as compared to other sites with rating.
And getting a rating is just one thing. It is always ever subjective. There will never be that perfect series that will get a 10 rating from everyone. To think that a series is less stellar in performance and not one of the best if not the best BL series of all time just because its rating drops or is âjustâ 8.6 is pointless.
Because the fact is, which no rating or comment can change, is that the whole team had delivered a most amazing masterpiece, and I totally can feel their passion and dedication to this series. Have you read Ohmâs letter yet? It was beautiful.
Thatâs what you get when you have top tier actors (not just in looks but also heart and attitude) plus a great director and team together.
To each and everyone with their own opinions. To me, Bad Buddy deserves a solid 10 rating from the beginning, and I have never been disappointed by the way the story progressed, and the characters were consistent in their portrayal. The parentsâ issues and problems have been revealed, and we know how it would turn out if Pat and Pran decided to stay away from their families or chose to confront their families openly.
I know there will be people who will immediately say that having 12 episodes is not an excuse for not putting more confrontations and drama, but to me, the story is wrapped wonderfully and the second half of the twelve episodes are just as beautiful if not more beautiful than the first six episodes. If you are looking for more angst and drama, then Bad Buddy is not what you should be looking for. Those need more episodes to flesh out the drama, confrontation and all, and we will end up getting less focus and attention on Pat and Pran. Bad Buddy is basically told mainly from their POV.
I have been watching many Chinese (and Korean) period dramas that spanned over 50 episodes (up to close to 100 episodes) with all the numerous drama, intrigues and plotlines, some of which can even be downright ridiculous (a.k.a. for the sake of the drama). To me, what makes EP 12 and the earlier episodes really wonderful is that, in the context of the story, the charactersâ motivations and background, there is really no need for unnecessary drama. That is exactly what made Bad Buddy a most amazing series.
In fact, I know some of us are hesitant for any second season because we are worried that unnecessary drama can ruin the relationship that Pat and Pran had, and just how healthy and genuine it is. But I have faith in the entire team especially Ohm and Nanon.
I went into every episode and gave it a 10/10 and also for the entire series. I did my part. That's all we can…
Itâs expected. But in the long run, there will be thousands and more people who rate here more objectively, and the true rating (which will be around 9.0) will be Bad Buddyâs, what it truly deserved.
