If Ohm has been well known to the Thai BL series viewers and Thai and international audience for Nanon's non-BL performances, I feel that it's Bad Buddy that has made them internationally famous beyond just the boundaries of the usual Thai BL viewership.
That's Bad Buddy power for you. The future is bright for OhmNanon pair!
MAME... LOL much as I liked the tv adaptations of MAME's novels, a lot of things were so off.
Honestly they aren't too bad. But in particular, I wasn't quite happy with how they did Don't Say No for both the couples there (Leo-Fiat and Leon-Pob).
I felt especially bad for the second couple. The first couple was kind of ruined in some form too... Was actually hoping for much better.
I just have to say this.In an alternate universe where Ohm and Nanon didn't play Pat and Pran, and where P'Aof…
Plus, now Bad Buddy is the undisputed #1 most commented series in all of MDL that is currently airing/has completed airing.
It has over 100 million views in YouTube across the eleven episodes, and will keep on growing in views in the days, weeks and months to come.
I also know that a special episode/movie/second season or all of that are possible. That is something to look forward to and to keep our PatPran memories alive.
In an alternate universe where Ohm and Nanon didn't play Pat and Pran, and where P'Aof wasn't the director of this series, and if this series wasn't a GMM series (have to admit that GMM power does make a difference...), and if the other supporting actors, especially Jimmy, Drake, Milk and Love weren't there... Plus where the original novel wasn't written by P'Afterday (and maybe by MAME instead?)
Bad Buddy would probably be just an easily forgotten series that were boring and not exciting to watch at all, or so full of toxic tropes that it was essentially unwatchable. Probably it would just manage 2-4 million views at most during its airing time, if not less. And if the series was listed here, I think it might only draw a few hundred comments at most, far and between (there are actually series like that here in MDL!)
(And we wouldn't have probably millions of people now waiting breathlessly for another 2 x 24h to Friday night finale!)
Yes, that was what it would have been. Thankfully, in our universe, that didn't happen.
Call me whatever for coming up this so random theory but here it goes:Have you guys watched the movie "sliding…
Yes, this was exactly something similar what I thought about too. Although earlier on, I thought it would happen in EP 11.
In my idea, the parents would have had nightmares thinking of how their children were bereft of their love for all those years, and then, eventually gave them their blessings.
Your idea was much better though! :D
That said, I won't mind any break up, considering that I always believe that Pat and Pran will come back together, stronger than ever before.
EP 4 was quite a hurtful journey for Pran, as when he began to try to embrace his renewed feelings for Pat (as shown in the beginning), Ink, their friend from high school came to them. When Ink recognised Pran, Pat as usual tried to save Pran and him both by quickly taking Ink away and pretending to have something to talk to her.
In the flashback, it was shown that Pran was already feeling a bit jealous and worried that Pat might fall for Ink (Pat was waving at Ink when she joined the class and sat down). And then later, when Pran lost his earphones, and Pat who tried to help him instead stepped on those earphones, the usual overthinking Pran must have seen it as a bad omen for his relationship with Pat. This was again then confirmed when he saw Pat having a drink with Ink at the cafe.
That brought to another flashback scene to the high school, when Pran ordered another drink for Pat, the two milk tea that they won't have the chance to drink together until so much later (4 years later to be precise, in EP 9). When he saw Ink and Pat in the music room, his heart must have shattered (his eyes showed all that), hurting badly for having tried to grasp the forbidden fruit of their love.
Their familial feud notwithstanding, seeing Pat with a girl that he seemingly liked must have been tough back then, and seeing the same scene in the present must have reawakened those bitter feelings in Pran's heart. Then later, when Pat didn't come to the bus stop as Pran told him earlier, he must have felt even worse. Worse still, Pat went to Ink's photoshoot. Over there, we can see that Pat still had some feelings for Ink, as he did in the high school.
(Basically Pat in high school actually had feelings for both Pran and Ink. Then in the university time, while some of the earlier feelings he had for Ink might still be there, but Pat realised eventually that the one he truly liked was Pran)
Pran was really jealous when he found out that Pat had gone to Ink's photoshoot (mirror this to Pat's jealousy in the next episode, EP 5). What Pran saw in the bar, when he saw Pat and Ink together, he must have felt so bad. And notice carefully, that Pat himself looked very conflicted. It was obvious that Pat himself began to feel strongly for Pran but couldn't really bring himself up to accept it fully yet.
(Ink was really their cupid - thanks to her, she helped to bring them together - in EP 5, but here we didn't know it yet back then, she was a potential love triangle interest back then)
Pat himself thought that Ink might have liked Pran at that time. So all these thoughts must have confused Pat even more. Look at the way Pat was looking at Pran. He was so concerned about Pran. Although he didn't say it out yet, but it was obvious even since the bar scene, that his heart already chose Pran from back then.
Pat bringing the fried chicken back for Pran, and took care of his wounds confirmed this just even more. All these must have rekindled hope in Pran's heart. He saw how caring Pat was towards him, and he must have dared to hope again. And then Pran wiping Pat's face and hearing Pat talking to him, 'What cute dimples you have there!' must have fluttered Pran's heart so much (his eyes were blinking in disbelief over what he just heard). Again, if I were Pran, I would totally fall for Pat.
So in the end, when Pat admitted that he liked Ink on the bedside scene, certainly we know why he felt so shattered by that, especially after Pat spoke all that he had recently done for him, which showed that Pat actually liked Pran, but could not bring it to say it out directly himself.
(Note: In the rugby scene, we saw first how Ink would not come in between the two of them, and instead became their great supporter. That scene between Pran and Ink was also significant since it helped to begin clear up the misunderstandings between them. Plus we also saw how protective Pat was to Pran. Wai standing between Pat and Pran was also the catalyst for the jealousy of Pat against him in EP 5.)
To prepare ourselves for EP 12, I suggest that we watch EP 4 and EP 9 on the milk tea.
On a hindsight, in EP 4 Part 2, remember how Pran didn't have the chance to pass that milk tea to Pat, having his heart and hopes broken when he saw Pat with Ink back then in the flashback?
Then, in EP 9, after the curtain reveal, Pran finally had the chance to pass that drink to Pat (chronologically it was already over 4 years since the high school scene). They finally had the chance to drink that milk tea together. It was a really sweet scene, and if you link that to the high school, it will be even sweeter.
(I mentioned this one before, some others also did, back during EP 9 airing)
Time skips doesn't necessarily have to be bad. And for Pat and Pran, let's empathise with them that they had endured it once in their earlier three years separation. It is the future that matters, no matter how the past turned out.
While rewatching EP 4, during the rugby match in Part 1.
Pat: She (Ink) is cute, so I thought I should seize the chance. (This was made as an excuse because earlier on, Ink almost spilled out the secret that Pat and Pran were friends in high school. To stop her, Pat quickly took Ink away and pretend to have something to talk with her)
Korn: 'I thought you said you liked someone in Architecture.'
(This means that Pat had indirectly showed that he's interested in Pran, to Korn no less! That was even before EP 5!)
It would be beautiful if that hotel is the one that they actually built together. Pat as the head of his family's…
In the novel, Pat ended up being the president of the P&P company (his father's company - and a nice, although unintentional reference to their names), while Pran is doing freelancing design work.
Hi everyone, I noticed that both Just Friends and Our Song are both done in a hotel setting. I have seen some…
It would be beautiful if that hotel is the one that they actually built together. Pat as the head of his family's construction company building the hotel, while Pran being the interior designer (remember they mentioned this just before the kiss in EP 11?).
That would be one amazing possibility I am imagining in my mind.
Hi everyone, I noticed that both Just Friends and Our Song are both done in a hotel setting. I have seen some others pointed it out elsewhere too.
Any of you have thoughts of how it may link to the story? (It may well just be a convenient location to shoot the scenes - especially during the pandemic)

One interesting post on Twitter I saw. Hope it may explain it better...
Where it all began!
(Bad Buddy Series Pilot Trailer - December 2020)
Honestly, did you all kind of get a 'prequel' vibe here? :D
I felt especially bad for the second couple. The first couple was kind of ruined in some form too... Was actually hoping for much better.

I have always believed in them, from the very beginning. Especially more so now!
Very good points, Deetsy!

Adding EP 5 and EP 6 by tonight!
