Intl BBS fandom is really lit!Peruvian viewers are buying an LED display at an intersection in Lima to thank BBS…
I somehow got this feeling that Bad Buddy is probably trending even more overseas rather than in Thailand itself. Not to say it isn't popular in Thailand of course!
The Komchadluek Awards for example, currently Bad Buddy and OhmNanon are still #2 behind I Promised You The Moon and BillkinPP.
Thanks for sharing! Just want to say EP 12 can really go different ways. And just as previews fooled us before,…
Yes, I think I also read somehow, Ink's reunion party. Ink herself is a senior student (but not sure which year), so if that happens after Ink's graduation instead... well, it may mean that the time skip may not be as long as we thought. Give or take maximum 5 years even if it's their own reunion party. If it's high school reunion, then it would have been like 7 years plus since high school graduation.
(5 years means that they would already be working for probably around 3 years, which is good enough point of time to reunite.)
Pat and Pran grew up basically together (although kept at an arm's length from each other), were in the same elementary and high school together, and they were separated earlier for three years too. So, to me, 5 years or so is actually relatively minuscule compared to the prospect of a lifetime of love and happiness for them.
I have mentioned, ad infinitum, how people can live very long (and this is BL and drama world, where happily ever after is a thing), if they are only like 25, they can still have many, many, many decades to grow in that love. Look to the possible future that can be made between them, rather than focusing too much on what happened.
What has always bothered me is that reuniting after many years being apart are two different people with different…
The thing is for Pat and Pran is, they had endured this earlier before. They were already separated before for three years after all from their high school time. Don't forget that Pat and Pran, while supposedly taught to hate each other, but they had known each other, all the way since they were probably infants.
They still have a very long lifetime to grow together in love, enjoying that finally fulfilled love and acceptance from their families (hoping for this) even if they were like 25 or so when reunited. People do live to a ripe old age of 80, 90 or even over 100 years old. That's good enough to me.
Time skip is only a problem if its duration is too long as then yes, they would have gone through A LOT without each other. I mentioned this before as what happened in Your Name Engraved Herein's 30 over years time skip to the present day, and worse still, it ended with an open ending (and unlikely having any sequel). Both Birdy and Jiahan would be about 50 years old by then.
That one really broke my heart. Happy that they were reunited, but really bittersweet knowing all that they went through. The main characters (Birdy and Jiahan) didn't even have the chance to explore their relationship as much as Pat and Pran had so far.
Pat and Pran's time at the ruined bus stop as they planned the rebuilding together was gold. There we saw for the very first time the hint of the reversal of roles and the versatility of both characters in their relationship as it would be hinted on and implied many more times in the subsequent episodes.
Pat willing to roleplay as the 'wife' and as a 'hot Engineering girl' for Pran must have touched and melted his heart so much (I would, if I were in Pran's shoes). That also helped Pran to gain the inspiration on how the bus stop would be rebuilt and constructed. While we all may laugh at all the cute words Pat was speaking to Pran (in a high pitched voice), we can see how amazing his thought process is. Pat, behind all that vulgarness and rough appearance actually hid an amazing mind.
Already we witnessed how just earlier on he managed to turn the situation in the presentation room 180 degrees with a mere twist on the bus stop design (based on something he just saw barely moments earlier). For Pran, Pat would do anything, and that bus stop night scene proved just that.
Then, as Pat later then returned the guitar to Pran, Pran must have been so overjoyed to get his guitar back. It had been with Pat all along, and it represented how Pat had keep Pran close to his heart all those while, just as Pran himself never forgot about his feelings for Pat after they were separated in high school. The returning of the precious guitar to Pran marked the moment when Pat and Pran began openly reaching out to each other.
(That partly explained the pain that Pran would experience in the end of EP 4 later on, when Pat admitted that he liked Ink. Pran must have thought that it would be possible finally, for them, to like each other, and that his unrequited feelings and liking Pat may finally become a reality - will cover this more in EP 4 Revisited)
I am really curious & confused... Why would they reveal a big chunk of mystery that kept us playing rounds of…
They can be true, but can be misleading too. It's not the first time Bad Buddy did this to us. And this is what always kept us on the edge of our seats every episodes.
Anyway, I shared in an earlier post. Whatever happened, it won't affect Pat and Pran's love for one another. That much is certain.
For those of you who were asking for the Press Release with the official synopsis for ep 12, here it goes. I hope…
Thanks for sharing! Just want to say EP 12 can really go different ways. And just as previews fooled us before, even I won't rule out this official press release to be misleading in some form too.
Whatever it is, it's Friday that matters, not all these tidbits they released to make the suspense for Friday higher.
This is a very interesting scenario (for the start of EP 12). And yes, everything is possible. Let's not speculate too much. Stay calm, and wait patiently for this Friday (I fully am well aware that this is not easily done).
We might temporarily cross Immortality, but that will always be temporary. Remember, Immortality hasn't even aired…
Chinese series always have an advantage in MDL too. Not to forget that Chinese audience and its BL audience is far, far larger potentially as compared to Thai BL series. Yes, that includes even 2gether the Series. The reality is like a tiny ant versus an elephant. And Immortality is like the biggest elephants of all the elephants.
As much as Bad Buddy and other top tier Thai BL series have quite a few Chinese fans, but nothing beats having and watching their own homemade series (like Addicted way earlier on and The Untamed 2 years ago).
(That Bad Buddy can reach so many comments is already more than amazing. It far exceeded my expectation.)
And Immortality was based on a hugely, immensely popular novel helps it a lot too. All these waiting has also heightened the suspense and all among the fans and even others who do not yet know more about the story.
Unfortunately, there is a good deal of risk that it may never air. We know what happened to Addicted in the past, and now at the moment it isn't really a good time for a BL series in China. Not only for BL series, even other non-BL series, historical drama series were affected by the governments attempts to rein in the rapidly growing (and at times, excessive) drama world and their fanbases.
This comment section has been active last night because of this synopsis mentioned.
In my opinion, whatever happened... happened. I know we are really invested into Pat and Pran. But, as the audience, let's not demand the show to go in the way we want it to go ok?
If I can have my way, I would already have Pat and Pran standing up to their parents right away after they returned from the zero-waste village. But, that isn't realistic and based on the nature of the still unresolved mess and wounds festering between Pat's dad and Pran's mum, it won't take a short moment to resolve it.
Again, breaking up or not, does that change Pat's love for Pran, or Pran's love for Pat? Should we assume that they don't love each other anymore just because they decide to break up? We have too little faith in them.
That OST said it all already. They know what love is for them. 'Kwam rak mai chai arai loei nok jak ter' (Love is nothing else but you). For love, we may have to go through tough times, even hell at times. That was what Pat and Pran went through in the novel, and if the series were to follow the same path, I perfectly understand the rationale behind it.
Don't forget, that compared to the novel (which in my opinion was amazing), the series had elevated the story even much more having a much more courageous and expressive Pran, plus Nanon's most amazing portrayal of his character. That he even agreed to run away temporarily with Pat versus the novel where he told Pat not to run away over the phone, and didn't even have a proper farewell before their separation, the series story was already 1000x more beautiful.
I know many of us may feel disappointed that after the butterflies we feel in EP 11, as we have this sad moment that they had to endure (and which we have to endure as well). But, I have faith in the two of them. I said it before, and I say it again.
1. True love is love that is tested by fire, by time, by hardships and obstacles. Pat and Pran made that decision because they truly love each other. They want true happiness for themselves, but that means they may have to put a pause to things first and find the right time after, when they have more means to resolve the issues between their families. If their love is really true, then no matter how long, their love will remain and when they come back together, it will be stronger than ever.
(And in my opinion, 5 years or so of separation isn't really a long period of time. People in love in the real world has often endured many more years of separation than that before they come back together, and yes, becoming stronger in love through the years of separation. Some did permanently part ways, but I know Pat and Pran won't.)
2. True love isn't selfish. Desiring to love but wanting to discard one's family (family is precious in the Asian context), isn't true love. As much as Pat and Pran loved one another, they also (still) loved their families. As terrible as what their parents might have done and in how they brought them up, but it didn't erase all the good things the parents might have done for the past 20 years of their lives. Don't forget about Pa as well. Pat still has a sister too. And running away not only separates them from their family, but also their friends as well.
3. True victory requires sacrifices and patience at times. In wars, great generals often have to consider tactical retreat in unfavourable times, to regroup and bide their time before attempting a counterattack and attaining the ultimate victory. To attack and fight the battle without regarding the greater picture often leads to a catastrophic defeat. Had Pat and Pran chosen to run away forever, or to confront their families openly, these wouldn't have led to the ultimate resolution of their many problems. Trust in EP 12. It will show us how everything is going to be resolved in time.
Just sharing my thoughts. Bad Buddy has been great so far, and getting ever greater in every episode, and yes, even up to EP 11 and the last preview. And I believe wholeheartedly that EP 12 will be the best of all of them.
While I myself hope to see it one day, but based on the recent happenings and the trend of things in China, it does not seem hopeful, no at least not for the next one year.
Remember Addicted? What happened back then in 2016, and until today, we know nothing came out regarding any continuation and even the actors and all still did not come together for any events again.
We're drawing near to 35k comments and The Long Ballad's 34,888 comments (at the moment). #2 across all of MDL…
Even after this series has finished airing this Friday, please do come back here regularly. For me, I will still be posting weekly the stats for Bad Buddy and maybe some other things as I rewatch it again and again from time to time.
The journey with Pat and Pran never ends, everyone! And don't forget that GMMTV certainly will have at least a special episode or something planned for the PatPran-Bad Buddy Universe. There are still a lot of things to discuss about leading to that.
We're drawing near to 35k comments and The Long Ballad's 34,888 comments (at the moment). #2 across all of MDL in comments is within our reach by later today (Wednesday).
(Hence, Bad Buddy will be the #1 most commented series in MDL for the series that have already aired/are airing now)
Never in my wildest dream back in EP 1, that Bad Buddy will ever reach this number. I've said this before. I wasn't even expecting it to surpass the other top Thai BL series that had their numbers around 5000 - 7000 comments.
Keep up the quality comments everyone! Immortality is at 39,007 now (somehow speeding up this past one and two weeks again). It's not our goal to surpass it.
What matters is we post here because we care so much about Pat and Pran, and we grew to love them so much. Some of us found them earlier, some later, but I am sure we all agree what a phenomenal show this has been, and what an amazing story, production and team they have assembled for this.
I am so fortunate to have been part of this Bad Buddy journey, together with all of you here, and all out there in other platforms!
i have a real world observation that it'll be a happy ending. They have sponsored items and quite a lot of merch…
Especially for those shirts they wore since EP 10 to EP 12. The blue beach shirt Pat wears and the pink shirt that Pran wears.
If EP 12 turns out great, those two can mean very differently than it is now at the moment. Now they are like the 'cursed' shirts, but after EP 12, it can mean very different as they become a visible symbol of their enduring love.
Let me share something that my therapist and I talked about today, because I couldn't help myself bringing up…
#BelieveinPatandPran as usual TheGORJUSMARSH!
Thanks for sharing about your therapy session. Indeed, as many of us mentioned before, it was a mature and well-calculated decision they made, after weighing all the possibilities.
I have complete faith in them and their love. Just less than 3 more days to go!
I thought the first time Pat and Pran had sex was in episode 11 but I keep seeing people say that it's been confirmed…
That’s the beauty of Bad Buddy. Certain things are left open to our imagination. Not everything has to be mentioned clearly and we the audience has a degree of freedom to interpret.
And I am sure we all agree that no matter what, all these do not change the way we perceive how strong their love for each other is. 😁
The Komchadluek Awards for example, currently Bad Buddy and OhmNanon are still #2 behind I Promised You The Moon and BillkinPP.
(Please vote for them if you haven't!)

I would like to buy them for my own, really.
And all three in the end should lead to at least a moderately happy (even if open somewhat) ending, if not very happy ending!
If we got a rather open ending, then hey, it may lead up to an even better season 2, and an even happier ending there!
Thanks for sharing about your therapy session. Indeed, as many of us mentioned before, it was a mature and well-calculated decision they made, after weighing all the possibilities.
