Happy Bad Buddy day everyone! Sad thinking that this is the last time that it happens.
(Honestly hoping for both a happy ending and season 2, so I can get to say Happy Bad Buddy (2) day again)

I know quite a few of us are still at Thursday now (It's 1 am plus here in Singapore). Gonna sleep before the final leg of the rewatch of Bad Buddy up to EP 11.

This comment section has been through so much that it deserves its own drama lol
Yes, it has gone through so much since Day 1. Back then there was only like 2k comments. Who would think that it would get so active, and so many contributions? :D

if Pran's mom hates Pat's dad so much, wouldn't it be simpler for her to move to another house instead of living…
Pran’s mum was wronged by Pat’s dad, so it’s unlikely for her to move. Doing so would amount to admitting defeat before him.

Meanwhile, Pat’s house is an ancestral house. In Chinese culture, ancestral house is very important and cannot be sold. So in short, neither will move, no matter what.

Hope this explanation helps!

So true! I’m new to bl so I was unfamiliar with Ohm until bad buddy and had only seen him in Blacklist. It wasn’t…
I have always been amazed by their previous projects and works, but Bad Buddy so far is the best among all of them, and when I say best, it's really best by a large margin!

Hope to see them starring in more BL lead roles in the future, and more projects for them, and also side projects like what GMM did for their top couples.

Bad Buddy EP 6 Revisited

After the rooftop kiss scene, Pran couldn't believe what had just happened. He had kissed Pat back because it was his repressed desires and emotions all coming to the surface at once. It's him unleashing all that long kept desire after so many years, and finally having that desire responded and reciprocated by Pat.

At the same time, he was hesitant because he still clearly thought that Pat liked Ink (refer to the beach conversation of Pat and his drunken friends later below). That confession which Pat made at the end of EP 4 was still very fresh and painful for Pran, and those feelings are things that he did not want to endure. Hence, he tried to keep it cool and calm, and stayed away from Pat as much as he could.

But he didn't realise just how determined Pat was to win him over. Pat pursued him all throughout, even to the point of daring to come to his house and meeting with his mum in the process (we see a glimpse of the issues between Pat's dad and Pran's mum, which would be revealed in full in EP 10, a few episodes later).

And Pat willingly waded into a literal warzone by coming along to the Architecture camp, when clearly no other non-Architecture students joined it. He went all the way to try to get Pran to talk to him regarding what happened on the rooftop, regarding their feelings and all. But Pran wasn't ready yet at that time. He was also worried to do so in front of all of his friends. Nonetheless Pat never gave up, and kept on trying.

During the beach games, Pat got the same plant on the nametag as Pran, 'Sweet basil', which according to the ancient Greek tradition is a symbol of hatred that gradually turned into love. Although it wasn't a direct Thai tradition or custom, it's probably one of the small symbolism to highlight the gradually developing nature of their relationship. Pran was still playing hard to get, but Pat was determined to communicate with Pran, and when Pran fell backwards, Pat protected him, placing his hands behind Pran's neck to guard him.

Pat used the opportunity of following Uncle Tong and Junior to the village market to have that precious time just for him and Pran at the market and then later on at the beach. It was in those scenes that the ice/barrier between them begin breaking down one by one.

Pran has been trying to put up those barriers to prevent him from getting hurt again. In the earlier part of the episode before he went to the camp, he had that conversation with Wai when he entrusted his guitar to the latter (this action would come back to haunt Pran later on), where he said, 'If we know how it's gonna end, it's better not to start at all, isn't it?' He knew how their relationship would be a difficult one if he chose to pursue that path with Pat.

But again, Pat didn't give up, staying close to Pran, and at that beach, we see how those barriers have pretty much completely dissolved as they had their sweet time alone together, playing in the water before that beautiful heart-to-heart talk by themselves. They opened up with each other for the first time after the rooftop kiss, and speaking about their past.

(Those beautiful words by Pran, when he said that he was angry when he was transferred out because of Pat and his mum, 'That was anger, but not hatred')

Then coming back to the scene where Pat ended up with Wai in the same group for the night, and how he irritated him and the other Architecture students with his actions, which led to Pran worrying about Pat. Eventually we saw how Pran kept on defending Pat and tried his best to keep Pat from danger, as indirect reference to show us how Pran cared for Pat, and he was finding his courage to stand up for him.

We have in the end, how Pran 'confessed' to his friends to stop them from attacking Pat and made them drunk. That confession was actually true. He was still hurt that his first love (Pat) was seeing other person (Pran still thought that Pat liked Ink). He said that he wanted to take a break, and it still hurt him.

Later, Pran and Pat both met at the beach, and when Pran tried to walk away, Pat held his hand firmly, telling him by his actions that he won't ever let Pran go and walk away again, after all the times he tried to walk away from Pat since the rooftop (EP 5). We had more conversations between them, finally clearing the air between them, no more understanding, and them 'competing' and making a 'deal' with each other, to see who will lose and declare their love first.

(This would happen at EP 10, at that staircase scene in the Architecture building, when Pat declared his love openly for Pran, while Pran was 'swept off' his feet by all that Pat told everyone about him and by his declaration of love)

(Back then, at that beach, they affirmed their relationship with each other, and indirectly professed to each other that they liked each other. They weren't officially boyfriends yet, but in their minds, they already were. The seaweed scene at the end confirmed just this)

I don't understand why we are just so near to the finale and we have some people pouring nonsense here in this comment section...

Yess.. they are trully bad buddy in real life. Same college, and if im not mistaken they live in the same neighbourhood…
Yes, I heard they live really near each other. It's amazing that they didn't get to know each other earlier. But their paths crossed each other, and we knew what happened since then.

True soulmates, true best buddies in all. Most importantly, yes, no family feud. I am sure their parents both supported their relationship with each other, whatever you call it (and no, relationship doesn't necessarily mean romantic type).

Title Bad Buddy Spoiler
One possible EP 12 story in my imagination (Don't read too much into it) - I myself don't think it'll turn out like this. (Warning - first paragraph can be very depressing and angsty)

Pat and Pran returned to their families, told them that they broke up. They didn't see each other again for a few years, and Pran is sent overseas 'you'll meet great people'. Pran returned from overseas and met Pat again. Pat fought for their love and asked for their parents' permission to court Pran. The parents refused and are angry. Pat chose to drink poison and die, leaving Pran heartbroken, and then Pran to choose to drink the same poison (this is so Romeo and Juliet). Or Pat may choose to drown himself in the sea. Pran chased after him and drowned as well (just like Kwan and Riam story).

Then all these were revealed to be just a nightmare that Pat's dad and Pran's mum experienced at the same time before Pat and Pran returned from the village (Not impossible, this is drama series no?). They were so terrified at losing their sons, that when the two of them came back home, they apologised to them, reconciled with each other, and allowed them to be together.

Then that happy scene in the end of EP 11 is not just a mere imagination anymore, but become a reality instead. Pran's mum called Pat to join them for dinner and serving him that delicious Tom Yum soup and he has his taste of the authentic Dissaya sauce.

There is no time skip in that case. Then we see how they forge a true, happy future together, when 5 years later at Ink's party/reunion, they were already together for all that time. This time, a true and happy future where their families were already reconciled (and maybe become friends again), and them supported by all their friends. Plus WaiKorn ended up together too (working in the same place, LogTech).

Then Pat proposed to Pran (or vice versa) at the beach where they went to during their escape. They had a reminiscence of the time they spent there earlier and the decisions they made, and happy that finally their love could be accepted by everyone, as they look forward to a brighter, happier future.

(Just a thought... Hope you'll not mind me sharing this!)

Yes! Except Ohm is a year ahead of Nanon. I think he’s supposed to graduate this year and Nanon…well I read…
Nanon is a bit younger anyway :) It's so nice to have them studying in the same place. There must have been a lot of opportunities for them to interact and mingle in ordinary moments and times away from the camera.

Bad Buddy EP 5 Revisited (Part II)

At the Freshy Music Contest, it was where Pat's jealousy began to boil off as he saw how close Wai and Pran is. Just before this scene, he was having flashback to their high school time, when he and Pran were talking about the music (Just Friends) to be played at the concert. It is this same music that Pran would play at the Freshy Music Contest as well.

At that time (in high school), Pran was actually articulating his feelings indirectly, and his inspiration for the song came because of his desire to become not only just friends, but in fact more than just friends with Pat, which was always difficult due to their family situation. And Pat actually reciprocated his feelings back then, as he felt the same as well, but in typical Pat fashion, he jokingly remarked it saying, '...their feelings have changed... and become rivals. That's how our story went!' (But he actually meant that he felt the same way as Pran did)

Pat realised that he actually liked Pran, and initially was very conflicted about that. Then when Pa fed him one dumpling, this was a direct reference to the first time they were eating together in EP 3. At that time, Pat took one of Pran's dumplings/wontons and put it into his mouth. This scene was actually a reminder to that, and Pat must have remembered his interactions with Pran back then and how he already liked him all these while, even since back to high school (the flashback before)

That realisation, together with seeing Wai taking Pran away from him, them being close, and during the song, drove Pat really mad inside, as he was taken by fear, worrying and afraid that he would lose his love to another person. This is important because during the time when Pran played and sang the Just Friends song, it hit Pat hard realising that the lyrics and the words were directed at him, but when Pran was looking at Wai the same way that he had looked at Pat in the past (at the Christmas concert), Pat realised that this same feelings could very well be directed to Wai too.

When they were at the bar later on, Pat was still able to keep his cool, and knowing that he would blast it off and ended up hurting Pran because all their respective friends were there, he held back Korn and his friends, and told them to go elsewhere. And despite all these, we saw how he still actually went to get the condensed milk for Pran as he promised, waiting for him at the foot of their dorm block.

But seeing Pran coming together with Wai reopened all those fresh wounds in Pat's heart, and he went berserk, and true to his nature, and his inhibitions lowered as he had some drinks earlier, he wanted to reveal it all before Wai. Pran was still keeping up the appearances of their rivalry and dislike, because he was afraid that Wai would find out about their history.

But he misunderstood thinking that Pat still liked Ink (because he saw Ink and Pat together at the date where Pat tried to use the four signs on Ink earlier), and he thought that Pat would reveal their friendship to Wai. In fact, it was possible that Pat wanted to tell Wai, just how he love Pran, and think of him as MORE than just a friend. That led to the short but intense confrontation, and as we can see, Pran always protected Pat first and foremost, and even took his side at times against his own best friend, Wai. (This would be a major bone of contention for Wai leading to his action at the end of EP 8).

Then to the rooftop scene, at which Pat revealed to Pran all of his long suppressed feelings for Pran. Pran might have suppressed his feelings longer and better, but Pat himself actually had felt all that as well. It's only that he didn't realise it until much later, when he poured it all out before Pran. Hearing all of that must have been shocking for Pran, as he wouldn't have expected Pat to think of him in that way (To him, liking Pat must have been like seeking the forbidden fruit, nice to grasp at, but almost impossible to get).

That led to the iconic kiss, when Pat took a step further, and kissed Pran (since Pran would never have kissed first otherwise) declaring to him that yes, he didn't want to be just friends with Pran. He wanted them to be more than that. Pran kissed back more passionately since he was releasing all those pent up feelings he had for Pat, and the realisation that his feelings that he thought was unrequited, was actually reciprocated. But he left being sad as he knew that their relationship was still difficult and he needed time to think through all that.

Yes they are studying at the same university, and same college too! That's another reason why they are getting ever closer together! :D

Thank you, agreed with your points!

All of us are indeed entitled to our opinions, but as you said, it is very important to watch a series not just for the hot and spicy stuffs, but to get the idea of the entire story, characters and all, especially for something as deep and intriguing as Bad Buddy.

Bad Buddy EP 5 Revisited (Part I)

In the aftermath of the confession scene, we saw Pat and Pran in the early morning hours and how they bickered, which honestly felt like as if they were already together as a couple.

(This is a prelude to the EP 8 morning scene - which is after they were officially together)

Pat got to know Pran’s password ‘Pransocool’ and saw the collage of photos in Pran’s laptop. That he was able to see it immediately means that Pran might have been looking at them just earlier on, and he was finalising the ‘Just Friends’ song while reliving those high school Christmas concert moments. Pat found out how Pran had been treasuring those moments, which certainly did something to his heart.

Then we saw how Ink appeared, saying how Pat and Pran appeared to be lovey dovey to each other. As mentioned, she was really their cupid, helping them to articulate their hidden feelings for one another. When Ink later had the dinner with Pat, Ink’s order of egg noodle with three wontons immediately reminded Pat of Pran’s habit of ordering exactly three wontons.

Pa suggested the four signs to Pat, testing them on Ink, all of which failed, and instead, their ‘date’ ended up becoming our first glimpse of the upcoming InkPa couple. By stroke of luck and chance, the music shop called Pat, who decided to go to the shop and met Pran there just at the right time.

Pat felt exactly everything as her sister out there mentioned in the four signs earlier. First was that touch between their hands which must have caused Pat’s heart to beat faster. This was followed by them staring at each other’s eyes, and him wanting to know if Pran was taken by other people (asking if the one he called was his date). These things showed Pat that the one he truly loved and liked was Pran after all.
