I thought the first time Pat and Pran had sex was in episode 11 but I keep seeing people say that it's been confirmed…
I think it was (quite obvious actually) implied in the earlier episodes that they had been having it together.
'I want a reward from my boyfriend/Can you give me a reward' was mentioned a few times in EP 8 and EP 9. And in EP 9 before Korn came to Pran's room (which was already their room), Pat said, 'I want a reward from my boyfriend'.
Pran's eyes were looking down at Pat's *ahem*. And Pat was sexily sticking out his tongue. Through all these verbal and non-verbal cues, it's actually quite heavily implied that they already had it.
Pran saying, 'Give me a break' in that same scene also implied that they had it more than once, or even regularly.
In EP 11, when Pran asked Pat, 'Was I good?' was a question for Pat since it implied that Pran topped Pat for the very first time. It wasn't their first time, but it was significant as Pat allowed Pran to top him. That was the extent of their love, that they gave in to each other and just wanted to give each other happiness.
(Pran taking charge of the kiss with 'It's my turn now' at the beach can also be linked to this)
I'm a little further along a rewatch but just realised that in episode 6 (their first beach trip), Pran's last…
Yes, I remember that scene.
That's why the word 'Buddy' there to them means someone really significant and beloved. After their night bet on the beach at the end of EP 6, it was obvious that they already loved each other, but they were just waiting for who would declare it first.
So 'Buddy' for Pat and Pran doesn't mean 'Just Friends'. Their love has no need for label.
At the presentation scene in EP 3, when Pran heard that the company had just approved another project similar to his and how he was a little too late...
I love the way how Pat looked at Pran, with worry in his eyes (we know how he will keep doing this a few more times later in the series, for example at the curtain reveal scene in EP 8 and when Pat's parents found them in EP 10). He stepped up, and saved the day for Pran. If I were Pran, I would be totally whipped by what Pat did.
Despite their bickering from early on, it was obvious that Pat cared lots about Pran, and he grew to care even more as their relationship grew. That's true love.
I agree that people should do a rewatch! There are definitely little moments I'd forgotten or now notice in a new…
Thank you for those points :D
Glad to see more people rewatching and sharing their thoughts here. There are lots of hidden plots and details that might not have made sense earlier to us.
The one and only handsome guitar pick in the world - Pat cutting his own ID card to give that as a guitar pick is a significant moment in their early relationship. Pat and Pran by then had known each other for quite a long time (literally since when they were babies probably!)
It was that fateful moment when by chance Pran never brought his guitar pick, and Pat decided to cut his own ID (initially he wanted to cut Pran's, but of course Pran didn't want that) to make the makeshift guitar pick for Pran. Pat was just making an excuse when he said that he looked ridiculous on his ID and wanted a new student ID (well, he said it's the most handsome guitar pick didn't he?)
That was the moment when the first triggers of love and liking each other blossomed in them. Pran realised that all of the interactions he used to have with Pat, and remembering the earlier watch return scene, he saw how Pat actually cared for him. That awakened the first feelings of him liking Pat. The same actually happened to Pat as well, although he was less aware of it in the beginning. You can see the way he smiled and looking and Pran holding his 'handsome guitar pick'. He was already ensnared by Pran since back then.
Then to their first 'date' by the noodle shop. Yes, that was technically their first time spending time together (the rooftop earlier in EP 2 not really considered in my opinion). Their bickering there was really cute to watch, but at the same time, I can't help but feel pity how they had to go through all that, considering the way both of them had been brought up. They were obviously reliving their feelings for one another, while trying to overcome the mental block of their familial upbringing.
We see how happy they were to be living those moments again, especially for Pran. He couldn't have imagined that it was possible for him to spend the time with Pat again in that way after he was separated in high school.
But then, reality again strikes when we know how their friends from Engineering and Architecture ended up fighting again (reason linked to EP 2, when Pat didn't stop his friends from bullying Wai). This came to Pran's knowledge and he was hurt by what Pat did. (As I mentioned in EP 2 Revisited, Pat was somewhat jealous of Wai, and likely didn't stop his friends because of that).
Pat tried his best to mend their relationship. He even went all the way to help Pran and his friends to settle the bus stop issue, showing him the LocTech competition and went even further to help him in the presentation. Pat felt guilty for having hurt Pran indirectly through his action earlier, but even more so, we know how he was really determined to get their relationship back on track. It was Pat's blossoming feeling for Pran, which gradually revealed itself and grew, until we all know later how it all erupted in EP 5.
Them working together to solve the problem and Pat's amazing problem-solving skills have also been shown in the later episodes, and who knows, for the finale too!
That bus stop rebuilding scene (in part 3) was also significant in their relationship, as it was symbolic of them working together to settle their problems one by one. It was also the time when they began to get even closer to each other. Them spending time together, even as they bicker and were playing with each other reminded them that they really could be friends after all.
I highly recommend this short story to heal your hearts. Note that it is just one possibility among many in EP 12. I would say whoever wrote in ao3 really have great imagination!
(There are many new stories popping up there, and there's even an alternate universe where they remained in that village and didn't return!)
By the way, it's not my work, just in case you're wondering :D
EP 11 now has over 6.2 million views (still fastest to reach this level compared to earlier episodes) Overall total: 102.75 million (average per episode: 9,342,000) EP 7 is about to pass 10 million, joining EP 1 and EP 5 as the over 10 million total views episodes.
Hi everyone! I hope all of you are feeling fine and better after 3.5 days.
Yes, we are exactly halfway through the week between the showtimes on Friday. It's just a bit over 3 more days to the finale.
In the meantime, do consider rewatching the earlier episodes again (I am doing it now). It will help us immerse ourselves in the story better, and understand the actions and perspectives of each characters better.
And not just that, you may realise that the earlier episodes hit differently, now that we know more of the story.
Unfortunately same-sex marriage is not legal in Thailand. In fact in 2021, Thailand's Constitutional Court ruled…
That's exactly why we need more of these kind of shows like Bad Buddy (if possible) to show more awareness for equality in marriage for same-sex couples.
Unfortunately it cannot continue to show marriage. Sadly same-sex marriage is not legal in Thailand. In fact in…
Thanks for sharing, but just to mention that, regardless of any decisions by the Constitutional Court or government, it does not mean that same-sex marriage cannot be shown. The Thai government and courts do not control the media in the manner the Chinese government control the media strictly for example.
(It wasn't completely free media, but a lot more freedom as compared to Mainland China and quite a few other countries.)
That's why the BL series not just flourished in Thailand and have become increasingly more and more courageous in the recent years to show more explicit acts (as long as still within acceptable limits)
Regarding novel as source material and how it ended with their happy reunion and ending, and the possibility of season 2, I know some mentioned how the story has reached the end there in the novel as that and therefore there will not be a sequel.
Personally, I feel that there will definitely be something coming up for Bad Buddy, and we may honestly be surprised by it. Just like how Still 2gether was announced barely 2 weeks after the finale of 2gether aired, and was released within just 3 months after the finale (there were reasons for that - I mentioned it before), Bad Buddy may yet see something coming in the later part of 2022 (or by 2023 definitely).
Then, just as we know that the series took the story to quite a different progression versus the novel, retaining mostly only Pat's character and the background of some of the characters (plus other small details), then the story can always be expanded further. A story isn't set in stone unless the main characters died (no, I am not making a bad premonition or saying bad things will happen in EP 12 here, so relax if you are reading this).
Therefore, as long as they continue to live their lives, their story can always be explored more. Even couple and married life can be very beautiful in itself. We don't need drama and all other exciting plots to make a story beautiful. Even showing how domestic the couples are to each other (like Pat and Pran especially) are enough to make so many people who are watching feel so wholesome and happy.
(And I personally think they deserve the time to show us all that, after all that they had gone through in these eleven (and one more) episodes, all those years of hurt and separation, and possibly even more to come)
Who says that BL series must always be enemies to friends, friends to lovers, or from strangers to lovers, and all? It can also continue to explore the much less explored relationship between BL couples after they are together, especially if they got married.
(There are some out there that explored this, like Fathers (2016 movie) for example, how the couple adopt a child and all - won't spoil the story here. And those familiar with the Vietnamese series Tien Bromance, will know that they have a sequel called Tien Bromance: My Small Family centred on their newfound family with a child they adopted)
I've been thinking about how GMMTV could go about a second season for Bad Buddy and I got a super random list…
Season 2 can be very fulfilling and positive, and can enrich the story of Pat and Pran further.
Yes, I know many of us (me included) are disappointed by tons of series sequels out there that are horrible, poorly done or the stories that didn't make sense. But we have to give the team a chance. If they had done so amazingly with season 1 (the current Bad Buddy), then we shouldn't assume that they are going to spoil it all with a season 2.
I mentioned before that InkPa and WaiKorn couples need time to be more fleshed out and explored. The fact that they kept it towards the end, and given their relative popularity among fans, make season 2 really possible. Season 2 will still likely focus on Pat and Pran, but there will be plenty of opportunities to include InkPa and WaiKorn. And it also makes more sense rather than doing a spin-off series for each of them. Quite a few spin-offs didn't work out so well.
Marriage is something I really looking forward to. It was mentioned in the novel as a possibility (but either Pat or Pran mentioned there that isn't available in Thailand yet, so they just made a vow to be lifelong partners with each other), so if the series can somehow bring this to reality it will be most awesome.
After all if Sun Boxiang and Lu Zhigang had their wedding, and even the relatively more toxic partnership of Tharn and Type also had it, then I don't see why Pat and Pran can't have theirs. (And I mentioned before earlier about Grey Rainbow having a sad ending, and even there, the couple managed to have their wedding...)
My personal opinion - I truly think it is a fake breakup that they orchestrated to just calm things down and to…
If they do open ending in the end, then they better provide us with a great season 2. Meaning not like IPYTM and TharnType 2 (and other sequels with cheating trope) and this is also to be fair to Bad Buddy and our PP couple, as compared to other top series that had received sequels before.
Personally, season 2 is something that Bad Buddy should have, considering how virtually almost every top series have a sequel in some form or another. Most important is that they have to maintain the quality.
https://twitter.com/lilronanboy/status/1483040962955780098Does anyone know why Ohm and Nanon were not allowed…
To me, I think it's quite obvious. Considering that Ohm and Nanon are such great and amazing friends (they call themselves soulmates), and that they immersed themselves in their character so much (especially Nanon as Pran), if they had directly watched each other as implied in the show, this may have ended up making them way too emotional and may distract them instead of allowing them to perform as expected.
'I want a reward from my boyfriend/Can you give me a reward' was mentioned a few times in EP 8 and EP 9. And in EP 9 before Korn came to Pran's room (which was already their room), Pat said, 'I want a reward from my boyfriend'.

EP 3
Pat: 'You should learn to see what's around. You always look at me.'
(And earlier on, when Pran heard that he was just a little too late to get the project. Pat immediately looked at Pran and worried about him)
EP 10
Pat: 'Are you thinking of the time when I got punished?'
Pran: 'How did you know that?' (looking surprised)
Pat: 'Because you always made this face when I got punished'
Pran: 'I was just looking' (dying from embarrassment inside, his secret's out!)
Pat: 'You are confessing that you always looked at me'
Pran, Pat knew well about you always looking at him. Why? Because he was always looking at you too!
(Yes, basically Pat and Pran were always looking at each other, all the way since the time their relationship first blossomed in high school)
I love the way how Pat looked at Pran, with worry in his eyes (we know how he will keep doing this a few more times later in the series, for example at the curtain reveal scene in EP 8 and when Pat's parents found them in EP 10).
