Like, WHY THE HELL did they need to run away if their parents didn't even TRY to break them up? Why did they fake…
To me and many others, the scriptwriting is very good throughout. I respect your opinion, as you are entitled to it.
Just want to let you know that Bad Buddy has many layers of hidden meanings and also cultural contexts that need to be understood to fully appreciate the story.
Read the comments page further below, and the thousands of comments have discussed these ad infinitum for the past three months. I will also keep on sharing more on these insights in the days to come. Hope that will make you understand things better.

The parents didn't accept them yet until that 4 years after the 'break-up', if you watch EP 12 carefully. They only sorts of accepted them towards the end.
And based on the emotions during the time when their parents found out, it was a given that the parents wouldn't have let them date each other, or even see each other if they insisted to do so.
Pat and Pran are already working and are quite well-off on their own. They have their own home, and therefore, is much more capable and free to do things then rather than earlier on.
Hi all, I have taken some time to read all the comments below. All of us are free to share our opinions here, and have to respect each other for that.
However, I have seen some comments below that sound almost desperate to bring down this series without proper substantiation. Feel free to share, but let's be civil ok? And be fair to the series.
It's not for everyone, and of course it isn't perfect, but do substantiate your ideas with coherent thoughts before making any judgments.
Hi all, I want to pre-order the DVD Special Boxset for Bad Buddy. But may I know if there's a way for them to ship overseas? Since I think over there I read, for domestic delivery only...

By the way, liquor isn't cheap in Singapore, and the one that Pran brought is definitely a good quality one. He won't put a bargain on his gift for Pran's dad.
To those who may have missed out the (possible) cultural reference.
Pran bought the liquor for Pat's dad (from Singapore! :D), and on that bag is obviously shown Singapore, and Pat himself said, 'My friend just came back from abroad.' It was obvious too that everyone knew that it's Pran. Pa also just pointed out to her dad and mum that she saw Pran.
(In Chinese culture, a groom had to prepare gifts to the family of the bride, which is known as the Guo Da Li (过大礼). The bride's family later returned it as Hui Li (回礼) - returning part of the gifts.)
Gift for father-in-law: 2 bottles of hard liquor or red/white wine (That was what the liquor Pran bought can probably symbolise - or perhaps, shows us a possible lead-up to their marriage in the future)
That's why Pat's dad probably hesitated to have it at first, and then eventually gave in, symbolising his acceptance of Pran.
From the above source: Guo Da Li (过大礼), or the Chinese betrothal ceremony, marks the important formal meeting between both families and symbolises the groom’s sincerity towards marrying the bride and his assurance that she will be well taken care of after marriage. It is part of the traditional Chinese wedding rituals known as the Three Letters, Six Etiquettes (三书六礼), which includes the selection of an auspicious wedding date.
I am rewatching EP 12 now. Will probably keep on rewatching it, and also the earlier episodes again, regularly, from time to time, until the special episode/movie/second season.
And can we appreciate (at the start of EP 12 Part 3), how they finally had the chance to have their home together? That home where Pat was staying (his own house, not his dad's house), and we see Pran's smiley lights and other things there.
It's their house, away from their homes. The place where they can be truly happy together. And now that their parents have softened up, I hope for special episodes (or second season) to wrap it up completely. I hope they can be truly fully open and happy in their relationship.
A wedding (which Wai and Korn were planning to have with their respective GFs) for Pat and Pran is something to look forward to!
They finally had the chance to finish the concert together (the Christmas concert all those years ago - about 7 years? was disrupted when Pran's mum came) at the reunion!
Tan, tell me for real. Are you P'Aof? We all had basically lost hopes about them being together🥲
I'm not. I wish I knew what was in his mind.
But I believe in true love, and I know that as long as they loved each other, Pat and Pran would never break up with each other.
I know it, because I have someone I love (who is also a guy), but we were separated by circumstances for almost three years now. I was really feeling as if I am in Pran's shoes when he was separated in high school till university. I haven't revealed my feelings to that person yet.

That shows the sincerity of his love for Pat.

Bad Buddy is going to be the one that breaks that trend here. With this very solid EP 12, I have faith that it will eventually break 9.0 one day.

(And unlike Wayo's Phana-centric shrine, that was not just Pran there, but Pat and Pran's story together)
It's really so beautiful to see it unveiled to us.
