At last a drama where there is no face swapping! The FL possesses equal IQ as the ML, she is NOT a virgin and…
THIS! This is what I freaking loved about this drama in the start. In the novel, her soul swaps with Jiang Li so she's actually young, unmarried, and a virgin for the rest of the story (physically). But the drama made it so much better by making her swap identities, not bodies so it was literally a comeback and the best one imo. This made the drama more thrilling, realistic, and interesting at the start of the series.
When i rewatch, I stop at Episode 40 31:15 mark. That's the perfect ending. I just ignore the last ten minutes…
So real!! the mid of ep 40 felt so conclusive. ep 40 should've been the first half ep 40 and the special ep together. I really don't mind the war in the second half of the last ep but the Ji Ji duo dying was just rushed and unnecessary. We saw Tong'er being sent off by A'Li but the Ji Ji duo died and we only got to see Xiao Heng saying he'll take them home. No last words from them and no after-scenes where they're remembered. It's so sad and unfair
Idk what the director and the screenwriter were thinking but they clearly weren't thinking ๐คจ๐ญ
Lu Ji and Wen Ji both dying was so unnecessary and had no plot significance. Poor them. I could totally picture Wen Ji running behind Xiao Heng's and A'Li's daughter while she annoys Lu Ji and causes chaos in the household๐ญ๐ญ how darn cute would that be! Although I'm glad we got the special ep, I'm greedy. I wanted to see a chaotic Duke Su household with our leads, their little daughter, the funny grandpa, and Ji Ji duo. It would've been so lively. Either way, I'm lowkey relieved that it's a happy ending.
It shows how well they worked together to make the majority of the audience like this slow-burn romance despite…
It is interesting to me how you couldn't interpret what I meant and assumed I was complaining about the drama. I wasn't, I was just talking about how the actors had to work with a vague script (their words not mine) and it made their work difficult (the leads said this themselves) yet they still delivered an amazing performance.
ep 40 ended poorly and vague but the bonus episode made it happy ending. although according to a few it wasn't a satisfying happy ending bc of things in ep 40, it is a happy ending regardless
3rd point well annoyed me too in the beginning. Turns out she was a nice pawn.
It still kind of annoys me, especially given that the actress looks like his mom on screen. I'm really not trying to bring up her age but the styling (lower bun with sloppy middle partition and all that) totally makes her look like someone with grown-up children the emperor's age
I'm watching some of our leads' bts scenes and interviews together. I really love how they give off the vibes of co-stars who work perfectly with each other. It's like you're on a group project and you get the perfect teammate ๐
They don't give off "please date irl" ah vibes and I'm here for it! They both are like puzzle pieces that fit well with each other and are pleasant, hard-working coworkers
Even Wang Xing Yue and Wu Jin Yan complained about the extremely slow-burn romance. Apparently the script was…

I honestly don't know how the director and screenwriter can make such a difficult script to work with despite this story being a detailed web novel. Like all you have to do is condense it into a show. I really liked how they made the start of the drama different from the novel but they could've put more effort into the romance and ending of the drama
A few questions bc couldn't think of a legible answer and I'm almost done watching the last eps.
1. After Wanning's fake pregnancy diagnosis, the physician and his family were dealt with. Her fake pregnancy was Xue Fangfei's plan. Why didn't she feel any remorse that innocent people indirectly died bc of her? I was shocked
2. Another case of an innocent person getting executed indirectly bc of a supposedly good character is General Peng. Xiao Heng's granddad just stood by and watched General Peng get imprisoned and ultimately executed.
3. Also, WHY IS THE EMPEROR WITH LI FEI??! and HOW? She was his late father's concubine. How can he rightfully marry his almost stepmother and even make her his consort? I'm so confused. He was a kid when she was a grown woman in his father's harem. Sounds disgusting to me.
Good post. But it leaves out something that is also in the drama. XFF makes the right choices, because she's always…
Although I get where you are coming from, Jiang Li didn't have any such support. She lost her mother at a young age, had an ignorant father, was separated from her family for most of her life, and had to live in hell on earth. She still was able to separate right from wrong and maintain kindness in her heart.
Also, the support that Xue Fang Fei got was earned by her. Although initially Jiang Li was kind enough to muster up her will to live, Fang Fei did not have Tong'er's support in the start. She proved that she was not greedy and wanted to seek justice to earn Tong'er's trust which ultimately led to securing her identity in Jiang's family.
I doubt Duke Su would've supported her if she wasn't seeking justice and had a strong willpower to make things right. She earned his support and love came along the way.
Ye family wasn't supportive of her or considered her their family until she solved their crisis and proved that she cares and that she'll stand for what she cares. She had to earn their support too.
Shen Yurong had the solid trust and support of his wife and the knowledge of what he has learnt, he would've been doing good until now if he cherished that support.
Wanning would've genuinely gained support from some people around her if it wasn't for her misdeeds.
What I'm trying to imply is that, the people who you said support Xue Fang Fei, initially started supporting her because of the choices she made.
