Interesting story, smart leads

STORY: Great story. Different than the traditional rich man, poor girl. In forever love, both the guy and girl are smart and capable and come from well to do families (not anymore for the boy). Development of the relationship between the two main leads is entertaining to watch. A simple story but so nicely done and original.
EXECUTION: Acting is great from everyone on set. Some episodes has start with a time skip to the marriage between the two main leads, I personally really enjoy the time skips. Main couple gets together EP 12. Main couple doesn't breakup and make things unnecessarily complicated. Music is great and quality of the show is on par with expectations.
OVERALL: After finishing this show, I changed my review from 8.5 to 10/10. I really enjoyed the simplicity of this show. Forever love reminds me of Le coup de flounder. Watch if you enjoy school to marriage romances, back story, and capable male/female leads. This drama seems to be a good pick for learning Chinese if you'r interested.

Such an underrated drama, hoping for subtitles to make it more accessible

STORY: A story centered around two divorced, middle-aged adults (Zhou Xun, Huang Lei) with teenage kids who are in a relationship. The plot expands to the relationships of their siblings, family members, and children. There are explorations of parent-to-child relationships, economic stress, relationships between co-parents, adult romance, teenage romance, and more.

EXECUTION: The main couple starts out together with other characters following suit. The casting is really great with many well-known and experienced actors. The chemistry between all the leads is awesome and allows for comical, emotional, and perfectly executed relationships. Music flows well with what's on-screen.
OVERALL: The series is quite long but I haven't been bored once. The complex family dynamics and individual opinions of each character play together really well and are never too complicated to follow. I understand that the series hasn't been dubbed yet which makes this quite inaccessible but I hope more is dubbed soon!

!!MUST WATCH!! Laugh and cry romance with medical and military perspectives

(Review written after watching ep 22/45. Will update after airing)
STORY: Great story line focusing on the story between MiKa and Xing Ke Lei after their first encounter two years prior to the drama. There are intense scenes from both medical and and military prospectives but also light and fluffy scenes between the three main couples. Side couples are well developed and take up appropriate amounts of screen time. Good character development so far.
EXECUTION: Nice and quickly paced story. Lots of complexities between the lives of the three main couples and their colleagues/acquaintances. Main couple gets together ep 17/45. Casting is great, chemistry between the leads work well (Bai Jing Ting’s first on screen kiss!) and all side characters fit their roles nicely. Music suits the drama well (favorites being 眷戀, 愛上了, and 意外 ).

OVERALL: A great drama to watch for romance, slice of life lovers with emphasis on medical and military perspectives. I have cried and laughed in almost every episode due to the challenging aspects of MiKa and Xing Ke Lei’s professions and hilarious moments throughout the script. Hoping the rest of You are my Hero is as great as the first half!

Cliche plot, best possible story

My oversimplified review
STORY: A unique story around the cliche forced marriage plot. Really enjoyed the strong female lead. All side characters added to the story, none were overly annoying. Good humor throughout. Story makes logical sense.

EXECUTION: 徐驰 did great with the directing. All actors filled the roles well, chemistry of the main leads was great. The child actor for Youyou did amazing. The cutest scenes between the main couple which starts after they get together ep 3/35. No unnecessary breaking up and jealousy between the couple. Ly Yi Yao and Cai Si Yu (one side couple) were fun to follow, something that’s typically a bit annoying.
Music fit well, 三心爱意 was my favorite.
OVERALL: Really really enjoyed this show. Watch for a great plot and couple that involves a forced marriage, business, family, forbidden love, friendship, loss of a sibling, parenthood, and of course starting again.

Good story but draggy second half

My oversimplified review
STORY: The initial story line is good but the misunderstandings could have been cleared up way sooner than was shown in the drama. Great character development in Wang Xi Yi, Chen Jia Xin, Wang Zhen Ren, Leanne Liu, and Di Lun (Dylan). I applaud the story for emphasizing the loss of a child and its effects (emotionally) on parents, something I often don’t see talked about especially in Chinese media.
EXECUTION: Chemistry between the leads was perfect. Main couple gets together ep 19/36 (and later in ep36/36). Plenty of laughable moments, especially from Anson. Wang Zhen Zhu (grandmother/chairwoman) was one of the best characters from the drama. Music fit the scenes well (蜗牛的愿望-印子月 and 哎呀爱 Ai Ya Ai -李俊毅 were my favorites). My main gripe with the show is that the second half of the drama was a draggy and Shi Anna (possessive ex) drove me nuts. I rarely fast forward shows, but this one was an exception as I found myself putting the drama between 1 and 6x speed for some scenes.
OVERALL: Good story line involving a one night stand, love triangle, family, and the loss of a pregnancy but has an extremely draggy second half.

STORY: Quite an interesting plot. I initally started this series after seeing the adorable scenes of Fang Yan and Shi Meng online but after watching, I was plesently suprised at the complex, sweet, intricate, and well written story of Poisoned Love. None of the side charachters were annoying and there was great charachter development by the end of the series.
EXECUTION: It took about 3 eps before understanding what was going on. main couple gets together ep 15/24 . No issues with music, my favorite song was Destined-wang Beiche. Added sound effects within the drama added humor in good spots. Acting was great, all main leads held their position well
OVERALL: I was throughly impressed by this drama after expecting another cliche plot. Recomend for someone looking for a cute couple that involvues business, sibiling conflict, friendship, and more.

My oversimplified review
STORY: Interesting allergy to tears, being a person who typically does not like things like that, it fit well with the plot. Really enjoyed how capable both the male and female lead were. Loved the business/workplace setting. Side couple was also interesting to follow and did not interfere with the plot.
EXECUTION: The chemistry between Leo Luo and Bai Lu was phenomenal in Love is Sweet (their personalities off camera also work well together). Great costume design, loved the outfits of Jiang Jun. Music worked well with what was on screen, my favorite being A Love Song for You. Nice humor throughout.
OVERALL: Watch for the chemistry between the two main characters, the office setting, and a super sweet office and rivalry love story.

Worth the high rating

My oversimplified review
STORY: Unique plot, not too complicated even though it follows the lives of three families and their respective issues. The family issues between the kids and their outsider parents/families are very painful to watch but realistic, they can be triggering for some so take a break/skip if you need it.
EXECUTION: All actors fit their roles perfectly, props to Seven Tan, Song Wei Long, Steven Zhang, Tu Song Yan, Zhang Xi Lin and Yang Tong Shu (the child actors also did great in this drama). Chemistry between the actors was phenomenal and made the acting come to life. I cried (get tissues ready) and laughed in every episode. Music in the show, although mostly with a sad tone, all fit perfectly with what was on screen (無畏 and 雨 are my favorite). Switching between past and present was clear and there was never any confusion in what was happening in the show.
OVERALL: I rarely rewatch shows but this one is different, I often find myself watching parts of certain episodes on youtube when the clips show up on my recommendations page. Everything was done right in my opinion. I have recommended this show to so many people and most share my enthusiasm about the show. If i'm being honest, I have found it hard to find another show that is this good since watching and all other shows seem bland in comparison.

Simple and sweet story

STORY: Bit cliche. Male lead is cold and smart (Mr. Perfect), female lead is clumsy (Ms. Casual). Some parts of the story could have been skipped with the story remaining the same (relationship with Gao Zhi Yi and Lin Nou was frustrating at times). Good character development, especially for Zhang Sinian.
EXECUTION: Nice pacing throughout as conflicts are resolved within 1/2 episodes. Chemistry between the characters fit their roles. Some funny moments between the characters as they figure out their lives together. Romance scenes were there but not over the top. Music choices were good, the song 夜问-花粥 was the best of the OTS in my opinion.
OVERALL: Cute story with the driving point being how Zhang Sinian and Yun Shu get together and lead their lives/change for each other.

Slightly tropey but strong female lead!

Review based on available 11/16 eps. Plan to update when series is complete

STORY: Cold and bossy representative of a cooking show is caught not knowing how to cook. He ends up agreeing to take lessons from a female employee who is very skilled in cooking and does not believe in working overtime.

EXECUTION: Casting for this show is great. First time seeing the FL and I think she fits the role perfectly. Chemistry between the leads is there and works well when the characters are with each other. The music is nicely written, the track fits nicely with what is on screen.

OVERALL: Each episode is ~1.5 hrs long, but I still haven't gotten bored during an episode :) I really appreciate that the FMLs in this show are smart and independent enough to make decisions. The pacing for the second couple is wonderful haha (you'll know by the second ep). Personally not a big fan of the third side couple and find their plot a bit annoying.

The sweetest cdrama of 2020

My oversimplified review
STORY: Bit of a cliche plot with a smart male lead and clumsy female lead that end up living together. The sweetest interactions between the two leads after they get together. Nice character development as the two leads learn how to work together through their relationship. This drama had the sweetest ending!
EXECUTION: Music in this drama was fit well with what was on the screen (my favorites were 可乐就是力量 and 兩人份美好) and the added sound effects complimented the drama so well. Acting of Fair Xing and Lin Yi fit their roles perfectly and the chemistry between the two was something that made the drama stand out.
OVERALL: Watch for a lighthearted university love story with the sweetest couple and funny interactions.

Lots of business, minimal romance

STORY: Interesting business plot with some romance between two headstrong and smart leads. Original driving story behind Gao Shan's actions. A lot more business talk than anticipated, as someone who doesn’t know much about business, the plot gets confusing at times. No logical errors which is a plus.
EXECUTION: Hu Yi Tian and Bridgett’s acting really stepped up a level in this drama. Enjoyed the side characters as well which is not always the case. Good production, the complicated story is told in a way that makes the most possible sense.
OVERALL: I ended up dropping this drama due to how much business there was. I really liked the backstory but the business aspect was too much for me. Watch if you are interested in business, revenge, and are ok with the minimal romance. This is not the best drama to watch if you are trying to learn Chinese due to the abundant business talk.

My oversimplified review
STORY: Interesting take on a contract relationship with many plot twists. Typical strong, rich, male lead with a less so woman. Enjoyed the office setting. As mentioned earlier, the plot twists... what happened with one of them is just not ok, even for a drama. The rest of them turned the drama to a more cynical plot but was easily watchable by me, a person who cannot watch any/much violence of fighting and gave new light to the CEO male, poor female, contract relationship plot.
EXECUTION: Nice chemistry between the main and second couple characters, some character development. Music was fitting, my favorites being 我还是很喜欢你 and 甜蜜发酵.
OVERALL: Recommend it for people who are looking for a business relationship with crazy plot twists. Some super sweet moments between Xia Lin and Ling Yi Zhou!
