That would've made more sense. He didn't really deserve to die. His one major crime, he made up for it by letting Chu Zhao kill Xiao Xun.

For a moment there I thought Deng Yi would make it to the end.

Also, just to support the comment below saying ZYR was more of a guest role than ML. The most disappointing part, honestly. He wasn't involved in any of the plotting. His character was very sidelined

Watching this is so hard. I feel bad for both of them, but most of all Lu Xi Xiao. He's the most innocent and clueless one. I just wanna give him a hug
