I usually have a hard time with Asian slap stick comedy dramas (doesn’t matter if it’s Thai, Kdrama, or Cdrama) but this one has me 🤣🤣 with some of the lines from all the characters…even the prison guards in that scene with Awa.

What’s the Aunt Princess Le Yang’s history/problem with LL’s mom? It sounds like she’s jealous of General Wei and usually things like that are due to a guy. Did she use to like LL’s dad but was rejected for Gen Wei? Anyone who’s read the novel know?

Lol…I loved it when LL forgets that she’s supposed to be weak and fragile and CP reminds her so she follows up with a silly fall/faint/cough.

She actually makes her own money and doesn’t use her dad’s money. The last couple of episodes shows her relationship with her dad and why. For us viewers and to others her apartment looks huge and expensive for a single person in Beijing, but you have her dad saying it’s small and not in a nice area and offering to get her someplace bigger in a nicer area…the jerk is all about the money. I think it’s funny that she jokes about being Fu-er-dai, 2nd gen rich but both her and her mom doesn’t want her dad’s money. I love that she lives how she wants and buys what she want that she can afford on her own but is also very generous with those close to her.

I guess for me it fits in with LC’s character. The flashbacks tell both their POVs. LC’s backstory has been presented from the beginning which is the whole thing with his dad. GX’s family story just came out along with her POV on the break up. Part of LC’s came out because the flashback showed his post breakup feelings during training where he balled his eyes out. Since GX’s family stuff just started coming out, maybe we’ll see what happened between LC and GX’s dad in the past.

I think the break-up scene through his POV was good cause it really showed his struggle. I think it’s following his growth in opening himself up so I think they’ll show more of his POV later. As someone else said he was very closed about his struggles before but has been more straightforward and that’s also when I noticed the narrative on his story and experiences start coming out more in his POV.

So are the other pairs aside from CP and LL, Prince Ying/Jianmin, the assistant/her maid, Lady Du/YH? Does Jianmin’s friend and Jinpo 2nd Prince have pairings?

What Jules said. And their type of pendent as well as the design of the emblem on the front of their robe is determined by their official rank too. I think as they move up in rank, it changes.

I think they’ve shown some of his struggles through the flash backs and her friends revealing things like that conversation GX had with his cousin, her finding out more of his family struggles, and her mom revealing that GX’s dad asked him to break up with her as well as her dad’s continued attempts at interference. We can all see that he wasn’t to blame. Also, I think more will come out about her dad’s interference.

Lol…I think the bathroom scene is going to be the most intimate…it hints that they were already intimate. I think it started on their last night at his old base where she started the kissing and they blurred the rest.

I think their first time was actually episode 15 where she initiated the kissing and then they were blurred out. It was after visiting his old Captain’s wife and their last night at the base. After that, he started staying at her apartment in the same bed, always holding each other if he wasn’t already up making breakfast.

Lol…yeah that would have been nice but then in his line of work they rarely wear jewelry and such.

It’s similar to the end proposal scene in Boss and Me where the SS had presented FT with her own engagement ring. It’s not weird when in most cultures only the female wears an an engagement ring. I’ve seen other dramas with this type of scene. She buys it so that he doesn’t have to since he went into debt getting out of the forced engagement.

I didn’t think it was a thing in CDrama for males to wear a ring during engagement.

In novel, they register their marriage first then have a wedding ceremony 1 1/2 years after the baby is born.

In the novel LC finds out what GX was going through before the breakup from either his cousin or friend. We’ll see how they do it in the drama.

It would be nice for them to be in a normal drama together. They did one of those Nationalistic specials together that have lots of celebrities and portrays different parts/aspects of China.

She lived on a military compound with her Aunt’s family. LC’s cousin lives in the same compound which is how he knew…most likely saw her when visiting before.
