I’m reading a random chapter from the novel and it looks like in the novel Xin Yao poisoned and killed her older sister due to jealousy most likely because she was always compared to her and criticized. Seems in the novel, she’s really just like her mother in the sibling relationship department.

I think he’s supposed to be just slightly younger than his older brother so mid-20s. In those days, girls are married between the ages of 16-18 and you’re potentially grandparents by your late 30s/early 40s.

Prince Ying is the older brother and he’s 26 so either they’re the same age but months apart or CP is a year or 2 younger but still in mid 20’s. At least they made LL 18 and not 15 like in novel.

Yeah…I had to look up the birth permit thing when I heard it in L&P but I also see that it’s actually not being enforced as much due to low birth rate. When it was strict, people can still get care if they don’t have a birth permit but they won’t be able to register the birth in the household register after.
