Yes. Would have wanted more to happen for that scene. GX’s sister is also in the SWAT team, so I wonder why…
I don’t think it was that she was unaware since she’s got family in SWAT and most likely see things in the media but more like she was distanced from it all. It doesn’t hit home until you’re directly faced with it. At least that’s how my friend who’s married to military describes it.
So I binged all available episodes starting late last night. And then today, I found the English translation and…
Yeah, with the exception of a slight change to his career, family members (sister is older with same father and so far no younger half sibling from mistress), and their age gap, it’s stuck pretty much to the book. I think they may possibly add a bit more to SWAT scenes later on? I’m also wondering if they changed GX’s dad’s career. I think both characters are pretty straight forward and the author/script writer seemed to have written what was their thoughts in the novel into actual dialogue for the drama.
He passed his police exams the first year, hence he missed gaokao because of that. I think he had to put his training…
He did not take the GaoGao during his senior year so his choice was to go to work or repeat the school year before the time comes around for the exam again. He repeated the school year and took the GaoGao the same year as GX so that he can get into the Police Academy. There’s not a separate exam, just that people can get disqualified from the Police Academy/Military and certain majors for medical reasons. From the start, he applied for the Police Academy while she applied for the School of Finance and Administration. At the Internet cafe, he said he would treat everyone because he will be leaving to study/go to school (du Shu) not University (Daxue) so that’s a mistranslation. The next scene, the acceptance letter was GX’s which was why she said that if only they confessed before because she could have applied somewhere closer to the Police Academy.
It initially confused me too because I read the novel and in the novel, he started in regular University and dropped out to follow his dreams of going into the military even if that meant he had to enlist instead of going to a Military Academy. Because of his dad, the only way for him to get away from home was to apply for a normal university. This was also why GX’s dad was prejudiced against LC because LC wasn’t a Military Academy graduate but had to earn his way up from enlisted.
They changed it a bit because they changed their age difference since in the novel, he was in High School while she was in last year of middle school when they were first introduced, then go together in High School. She was still in High School when he started University. They also had him actually go to the Police Academy in the drama versus dropping out of University. Most likely due to censorship since it would not be a good influence.
Gonna wait till it finishes airing. Synopsis sounds interesting and i like the FL in Go Ahead and The Sword &…
1. They were late teens maybe just turned 20 before separating…just a year into university/police academy. It’s around 8-10 years later when they reunite. 2. They could not move on from each other in between break-up and reunion. 3. Happy ending.
Did GX get pregnant before marriage according to novel??
The government requires a birth permit to legally have a baby and you can only get them if married. I think there’s parts of the country now that are opening up to allowing births to unmarried couples due to falling birth rates. I refer looking it up when they talked about it in L&P.
Do a real SWAT really training with real bomb without protective equipment like this?? what if they fail?? omg…
He wasn’t just SWAT but also EOD which is bomb squad. I think SWAT gets some EOD training but he was fully EOD trained and is an EOD instructor. I know some who work in that field and they start off training with simulators but will later train with the partially real stuff when they’re more experienced. The detonator will be real but the explosive part is not life threatening or cause serious injury unless the trainees are messing around, something like that. There’s lots of safety rules but things are set up enough to where it’s as close to the real thing as safely possible because there’s no time for second guessing when it’s real.
In that clip, I felt that there’s some resentment when ML’s mom met FL. I remember in the novel, of the parents, only FL’s mom approved but she’s not really in the picture much due to her career. It didn’t really affect them because neither set of parents were in the picture much so they were independent since young. They still fulfilled their filial duty by holding a large banquet for ML’s family but ML’s mom was still griping a bit at the time of their wedding.
Don’t know if it’ll be the same in the drama since they changed a bit of ML’s family dynamic. In the novel his sister is actually younger than him and they didn’t have the same father. ML two younger half siblings. His sister was from his mom’s second marriage and he had a younger brother from his dad’s mistress.
Also FL’s dad was in the military and looked down at ML for dropping out of university to enlist in the military and not attending a military academy. They changed it in the drama since ML attended the police academy.
Just finished today’s episodes and saw the previews for tomorrow. From the look she gave GX, it seems like LC’s mom kind of figured out why he broke the forced engagement. The father already gave up on the engagement since he didn’t have to pay the money back but the mom seemed still resentful. Now I remember why I didn’t like his mom in the novel even if I felt sorry for her having to live with his dad.
They tried to make the long distance thing work but FL went through tough family issues before the break-up. Since he was so far away in the military with limited communication, he couldn’t be there for her. She was very young, still in High School or getting ready to graduate at that time. With having to deal with everything on her own and still being a bit immature, her feelings got the best of her and she broke up with him. He doesn’t find out about what she went through until later.
Is it necessary to show patriotic things in drama which aired in TV?? last Tan song yun drama Flight to you was…
Everything I’ve watched that takes place from Republican Era and forward has some kind of patriotism/nationalism built into the script. Some are more overt than others but there’s always something interjected that will have a patriotic/nationalistic tone, even in idols dramas like Go Go Squid. From what I see, it seems like a must to pass censorship quicker.
is it only have 12 episodes or they will increase after some time
IMDB also says 12 episodes so it l;oops like it’ll be a rushed ending. I put this one on hold to wait for more episodes cause I like the leads but don’t really like their story line so far. They wasted 2 great leads. Loved them together in the time travel/past life one so was looking forward to their pairing.
What's her character in the novel can you tell me.
Thanks…so Zeng Di hinting at their prior relationship was somewhat true but it never lasted except for sex with no strings. From what I read in part 1, they periodically slept together. HT was straightforward that Zeng Di wouldn’t be more than that and stopped even that when she got possessive at end of part 1. At least that’s what I got from the translation of the book.
He’s the son of the family driver that died with Un’s father. He was playing near the car as a kid when he overheard Un’s Aunt talking so he suspected she was behind the accident that killed their fathers.
What's her character in the novel can you tell me.
The translation sucks sometimes but Zendi was never an ex-girlfriend correct? They were business partners and occasionally slept together. She’s possessive of him but he doesn’t really care for her. Did he at one point in the beginning or was that all in Zeng Di’s head.
He’s a 3rd generation in terms of wealth. So his grandpa built himself up. His family is one of the top 3 largest…
Yeah…their group is a conglomerate of companies. He runs the Medical Division and his cousin runs the Electronics or Energy, something like that. There’s probably other types of diversified businesses as part of the group.
