Now I’m wondering if the mother was traumatized in some flight. She doesn’t travel by plane at all and takes ground transportation everywhere. That may be the reason for her being against CX being a pilot.

Lol…I like the “elder” pilots: GNT’s shifu Xie, Lao Cai, and the bar owner Lao Hu. I noticed the actor that plays Jiang always has the jerk roles. I guess he does well making people hate his characters.

Since it’s 39 episodes, captain Neanderthal will probably cause more havoc before he gets sent packing. I can see GNT being one of his targets cause they have differing views and GNT isn’t like his brother-in-law who just goes with his decisions.

In the character trailer, NZ said, “her liking you is her business and me liking her is my business” in a very calm manner kind of like assuring his friend that he’s going to be okay. At least that’s how I saw it. Going to wait for the context of that scene because maybe it’s him telling GNT that he’s okay and CX not returning his feelings doesn’t mean it’ll end him.
I don’t see anything wrong with NZ having feelings for CZ. It’s how he handles it, being honorable or being a creep. And so far his character seems the honorable type. We’ll see how it plays out as the story goes.

He was born in the US when his dad was working there. He had been living between the 2 countries up until he went into C-entertainment full time.

I think NZ will have one-sided feelings for CX but I don’t think there will be a love triangle there. I get the feeling that he’ll develop feelings for her but be the supportive friend instead once he realizes there’s something between CX & GNT. Even though NZ came from a poor background like his character in MOMO, he hasn’t let that affect his personality and has so far shown appreciation for GNT’s friendship. That was the one thing his character in MOMO lacked was that encouraging/grounding friend and instead was influenced by an inferiority complex. One bozo character in the drama (Jiang) is enough.

The one that can turn crazy is YuHeng. Her intentions towards GNT was obvious from her first appearance. That other stewardess will probably give her crap since she likes GNT too. But yes, I can see YuHeng being that obstacle unless GNT makes it clear to her. We’ll see if they stick to his straight forward character or make him be that save-her-face ML that dodges things to spare the “little sister’s” feelings which causes more misunderstandings.

Constantly trying to prove herself and breaking free of the mold her mom set for her. That flashback where she talked about the awards and all the lessons and activities reminds me of what some of my friends went through growing up.

After ep 9, I’m wondering if CX’s chip on her shoulder mostly comes from her interaction with her mother…always having to defend her choice of becoming a pilot.

It’s when they have more than 9 lives…that’s worse than the modern ones for me. They fall off cliffs and still return to cause havoc.

CX’s flying record has been with freight missions. Even though she has enough hours to apply for Capt (not automatic), it’s completely different when she switched to passenger flights. She would still need some time training/transition so that she’s prepared for the differences before she can actually be the lead pilot on a flight. The Capt has the safety of 200+ people to consider and CX learned quick, people can’t take turbulence the way cargo can. She definitely wouldn’t normally get demoted unless there wasn’t enough positions and she wanted to stay with the same company. Jiang is throwing everything at her and looking for any excuse to make her quit since the CEO said they had to keep her. Also, with social media and in such industries, word can get around that she’s a trouble maker, wouldn’t be surprised if Jiang is someone who would spread info like that.

That wasn’t Wang Kai in MOMO. It was Lin GengXin as ML.

I think this is why I have a hard time with Xianxia…these indestructible 3rd parties that never take a hint.

Yeah, she was so caught up in her anger towards GNT that she didn’t even realize he was trying to save her from such a fate by sharing the blame/punishment. Jiang was just waiting for her reaction to push GNT into a corner. 🤦🏻‍♀️. I think the Ground Handling Dept will give her a different outlook with customer service since she’ll mostly be dealing with the passengers. Jiang’s plan to push her to quit will backfire and actually add to her strength.

I don’t think it’s just to be dramatic. He’s trying to figure out a way to get through to CX because she thinks she knows everything just because she’s been a good freight pilot the last 7 years. Yes, she’s a good pilot which he doesn’t deny but she has no clue what it’s like to fly a passenger plane and she didn’t grasp that until ep 7. Military pilots who switch to flying for commercial airlines go through a similar learning/adapting process. Indirect customer service is hard.

He’s strict with all his pilots. He grounded one of them for not being ready for flight because his hair wasn’t proper.

Yuheng is that demure “damsel in distress” while Xia Zhi is the boisterous tomboy. I feel that Yuheng originally only took on that job to get closer to GNT. All the characters will need character growth.

I actually thought it was common in the more conservative cdramas to show bf/gf living together but having separate rooms even though they might hint at them being intimate. It was like that in Almost Lovers and a couple of other shows. Also, maybe that was the room they shared so he now sleeps in the spare room??

Is there still a special live show or was that just melon?

So based on the trailers and MV, GNT is going to go more corporate later in the show? I know CX’ll at one point finally promote to Capt but it seems like he’ll only fly enough hours to maintain qualifications but will be more administrative, maybe take over that Jiang guy’s position?

IMO, both CX and GNT need an attitude adjustment. GNT is affected by his past trauma and CX knows she’s got a weakness in dealing with authority and passengers. They’re both arrogant because they’re good pilots and they each have their flaws. Looking forward to seeing their growth. GNT treats her differently because she’s reacting differently to him. The other pilots don’t have the same reaction when he criticizes and he criticizes all of them the same. I agree GNT went too far with the beach thing and should really get help to overcome his past trauma. GNT also intervenes on her behalf with the prejudice Chief and puts himself in the line of fire but she doesn’t see that.
