Maybe they’re going by the novel, which is 10 years span because LX was in prison for 6 years. And sometimes people take when ZY said he’s “almost 30” to equal 30…but 27/28 is almost 30. In most Asian cultures, anyone between 25-29 is almost 30 😆 At least for my parents it was because they were trying to make a point of “ time is running out to get married and have children”.

Story is a 7 year time span where they did a time skip from freshman year to graduation then 3 year post graduation/prison (2012-2019). She was 18 when they started school so yes, ZY is around 25/26 while LX is around 27/28 as he’s 1 1/2 years older than her.

Yes, Go Ahead is another all time favorite…best 2 dads ever. I love historical dramas but I know that it’s not for everyone. My list of shows/movies.

I couldn’t get into Our Beloved Summer either. I loved It’s Okay That’s Love as well. The last one that hooked me good was The Red Sleeve and now it’s L&P.

Yeah, so when LX apologized, he admitted to wrong donging so as punishment, they removed the original award from 3 years prior which I thought was stupid but over there, it’s all about face and what LX did had made the sponsor and the competition committee loose face. Only thing with Gao is that he must have not accomplished anything else after that first competition if he was relying on it for the study abroad offer. That goes to show how short sighted he was. He should have kept the momentum going and have a portfolio of accomplishments completed in those last 3 years of college so that his future wasn’t depended on that competition title.

He always slept with the lights on after prison because the lights in prison are always on. He usually has at least 1 light on. But no light when they slept together at ZY’s. In the novel, they always slept in each other’s arms after that.

One of my favorite things about LX/ZY bed scene is that now that they’re sleeping together again, LX can actually sleep with the lights off. 🥰

Same…I stopped reading the novel until the last week and took it back up after the drama ended. I do agree about the writing but at that time I couldn’t tell if it was because of google translate.

Gao didn’t enter the second competition. LX was originally going to stay away from Fang because Gao asked him to. Fang kind of blackmailed LX into apologizing. He basically said that he had it in with the judges and that if LX didn’t apologize, he’d make Gao loose his chances of going abroad and the previous award. So for GAO’s sake, he apologized to the committee for his behavior in the previous competition which ended up being a trick by Fang and Gao lost everything anyways. Then you know the rest of how Gao blamed LX for not lowering his head.

They probably said hello offscreen but beyond that LX is not one for reminiscing. With the exception of ZY, he always looks forward. It was basically a business transaction because he invested in RenDi’s band vs lending as a friend. I saw it as he was there to collect his return on investment because he needed it.

Yeap…in the novel, I think that’s why she went to FeiYang and Boss Dong was the one that head her off while ZY/LX was getting their certificate. That whole scene with the mom at FeiYang and their talk took place after the marriage certificate in the novel. When her mom tried to get her to leave LX, ZY told her it was too late, they’d already legally married. They were one step ahead and she was pissed which added to her hate for LX. I think if they had more episodes, they could have added some of this but then it might not pass censor since she was being unfilial?
