Advance on Demand will start on Wednesday 11/30. We get E28/29 on Monday, E30/31 on Tuesday, 32 originally for…
That’s different from iQiyi and Tencent? I remeber the one time I got it, they released all at the same time on the first day of that week when they make Fast Track available. At least we get something each day and then Advanced on-demand.
She really don't understand Li Xun, How could she think that a person like Li Xun who refused anyone's help and…
I think they combined her character with GAO’s novel wife and it added more reason for Gao to hate LX. XLN was only in the part with the contest in the novel and Gao didn’t have feelings for her in the novel. The director said they wanted to show more of Gao’s built up frustrations because in the novel, the transition from friends to enemy was abrupt between part 1 and part 2. She could be gone and it wouldn’t even interrupt the plot but I guess it makes Gao more human that he loves someone. 🤷🏻♀️
Viki got the license late, not sure how come. Even with the license, it seems Viki has an agreement with Youku…
I think it’s mainly because their international app just started off not too long ago so they’re still using machine translation versus subbers. I hope it gets traction and they start having real subbing. Although, Tencent started getting cheap and used machine translation for the last few dramas I watched.
Yep, it will end this week 9 episodesMon -2Tue - 2Wed - 5 (1 vip + 4 fast track epsidoes)
Yeah…that’s why to get my money’s worth, I’ll find older dramas or not as known dramas on iQiyi and Tencent when I’m done with current dramas. The last one I watched on iQiyi was Checkmate and just recently Light Chaser Rescue/Almost Lovers on Tencent. I’ll do drama rewatches when I’m bored and will have to decide if I want to keep my subscriptions when they expire.
To those who read the novel do you know if her parents will finally accept LX as her husband to be and if they…
The parents kind of disowned ZY until the mother met ZY and her baby at a family gathering. Then they started wanting to see their grandchild. They never recognized nor accepted LX as their son-in-law. LX wanted ZY to keep a relationship with her family so he would take them to visit every new years. He wasn’t welcome at his in-laws so he stayed at the nearby hotel while ZY and kids visited with her parents and she would sneak out after everyone went to bed like in ep14. ZY’s mom only addresses the children by their first name and refuses to recognize LX as their father. Someone said this lasts till the oldest is in middle school but even after that there’s still no real acceptance of him, just acceptance of the situation.
He’s not with Gao. That’s HN, his old cell mate. He was scaring him because I think he worked with Gao to…
No it doesn’t. I think there’s like a pool of water or something so HN wasn’t hurt. There’s a scene where HN is wet and there are police. It’s also the reason why ZY was pissed and slapped him because it was a very risky move. She probably also thought it was real.
In ep 20 now and gao is becoming more and more unreasonable. He has an extreme case of inferiority complex but…
I think it started with that Blue Crown presentation. He knew he screwed up and put the blame on LX because LX showed up to save the day. He lost face. Since then, all of his suffering in his mind has been caused by LX’s existence. It didn’t help LX wasn’t good with words or patience.

I think Gao was there when it all went down and will probably use it to frame LX. It looked like Gao was holding a USB/memory card, maybe a clip of that scene? From the bit I randomly read in the novel, it seemed like HN went into hiding and LX was suspected of his disappearance/murder.

Same here. I understand some simple mandarin so I’m able to get what they’re saying when the subs aren’t right. It’s sad really but I subscribe to 5 different streaming platforms to get Thai, Kdramas, Chinese and Viki has Japanese, Taiwanese, and Viki originals like TRS. Netflix gives me all the other foreign shows like Turkish, Indian, German, etc.
after all these spoilers and trailers the only unsettling moment for me - what kind of scene in an abandoned building…
He’s not with Gao. That’s HN, his old cell mate. He was scaring him because I think he worked with Gao to frame LX to get LX to leave the country. HN wanted LX to go overseas with him. In the novel it was HN that hacked into L&P and he was hiding out.

It’s worth it if there’s other dramas by Youku you want to watch that may not be partnered up with Tencent or iQiyi. I usually only subscribe for longer than a month to a streaming platform after I scroll through their offerings and see dramas that’s not on the other platforms and IF there’s a good membership sale which is usually between November and Lunar New Years. Viki subs are good since it’s manually subbed and they tend to go back and edit the whole thing when the drama ends. It’s just sometimes they get the licensing late. Most people’s complaints against Youku and Mango is that they use machine translation. Tencent is also getting lazy recently because they’ve been using a lot of machine translation.
Ugh…Monday come sooner 😆
