I think there will be character development in all of them. Someone said LJX redeems himself. I think he realizes his reasons for working at that hospital and department weren’t the right one in the start and possibly changes 🤷🏻‍♀️ The stuff he said to his sister was bad. Maybe he’ll change for CR??

NB and his father’s relationship is finally explained. I was wondering how a father could send away his son and not every see him for years. I’m waiting for the video to see if his mother loved his father. If his father was truthful, he did really love his wife and blamed himself for his wife’s suicide. That was a double/triple whammy of guilt over talking his wife into a decision she didn’t really originally want, their ambition, and neglect due to said ambition. I was wondering why he said DD was just like NB’s mother. I could totally picture that NB’s father painted of what occurred between his parents surrounding his birth as something that would have happened if DD accepted LJX’s proposal. DD unexpectedly getting pregnant, LJX talking her into keeping the baby, and then DD potentially going into depression because of LJX’s views on a woman’s place. All the responsibilities of the baby would be placed on DD and because of LJX’s personality, DD would be stubborn enough to fight him over it and stride to maintain the career high and baby responsibilities without his support/understanding. Luckily, she’s more pragmatic and asked the questions first.

Yes…it’s the same proposal at the ending credits. You can also see the dad pulling at the gurney with DD’s mom laying on it so I was wondering if she had complications. There’s also DD’s grandma crying and hitting her so it could be because it’s a baby girl cause DD lied about the gender earlier cause no one saw the baby’s sex but her parents wouldn’t leave her alone.

It really annoys me that to this day, traditional families still believe that it’s true woman’s fault when they can’t give birth to boys…isn’t it commonly taught in multiple levels of school (elementary, middle and high school) that women only Cary the X chromosome. It’s not their fault if the man doesn’t have enough Y chromosomes when it’s the man that produces both X and Y.

I also like DD/NB dynamics. They support each other in their professional growth as well as facing their issues. They’re totally different in personalities but complement/complete each other in a way. I don’t think that DD would turn out to be like NB’s mom when she has a baby because they would work through their plans towards their goals together not independently like his parents. DD’s headstrong and competitive but she also knows her limits and wants to gain more emotional intelligence.

CR/LJX may be compatible on the surface as they both place value in the family unit but I don’t think they’re completely in the same place about a woman’s role. I feel that CR would easily go into PP depression and LJX would completely miss the signs, especially with all his chauvinistic /dismissive remarks towards the women so far. CR is naive and easily misled. Due to her personality, she also doesn’t speak up about things that she sees like the bruises on Dr. Huang…sometimes I’m not sure if it’s because of naivety or she knows but just doesn’t like to rock the boat similar to how she looked for excuses to hear DD’s concerns about LJX’s personality.

Same…or she could tell Du Di…would love to see Du Di get her hands on Dr Huang’s husband. And I wonder if 2ML will still recommend no divorce cause kids need to have both parents in a domestic abuse situation like he said in the cheating case. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The son doesn’t understand but at the same time, he’s learning bad anger habits from the dad.

I think it’s more like she’s a little awkward about it since he used to date her best friend. His sister annoys me because she meddles too much.

He is the worst right now. And his sister need to leave the hospital. She’s involving herself into too many things that’s none of her business.

Lol…for me, because I’m very analytical, I’d prefer Du Di…straight to the point with my medical stuff. In my opinion, it feels like Cong Rui is the typical Mary-Sue character in this series while Du Di is the rough-around-the-edges lead (normally male)…basically a typical couple but instead of b/g couple, they’re best girl friends.

Sorry…meant the FL’s ex…basically 2ML. I think he realizes his behavior later because in one of the trailers, it’s his voiceover that he doesn’t belong at their hospital. I don’t like his views on women. For someone who’s supposed to be a rising doctor (he made Attending early) at at hospital that’s supposed to be cutting edge, he should be more open minded to scientific possibilities, but he automatically said the patient in ep18 is a cheater.

I don’t like them right now because he’s pulling too many tricks. But I do feel him and Cong Rui will be compatible because they have the same beliefs when it comes to family.

I think the 2ML (Du Di Ex) realizes his behavior later, faces his own issues and redeems himself before they fully get together. Also feel like Cong Rui’s ex is hiding something too. He was really sad at the loss of the baby but didn’t express it because of what she was going through.

Probably way later when they go through the crisis that’s shown in the OST?

Dr Huang’s husband is an abuser?? Man…I really feel bad for all the women on this show. They go through everything. At least they didn’t show the usual greedy mistress.

It’s also really annoying that 2FL and 2ML are going around doing what they’re accusing FL of doing…taking short cuts through connections. 2FL is naive and doesn’t realize 2ML has manipulated her through his assumptions. He doesn’t even know what ML/FL are talking but his jealousy over ML’s “connections” is showing through. And all 2FL has to do to get something is talk to her mentor 🤦🏻‍♀️ So she’s really the one using connections.

He annoys me but he’s got issues similar to Du Di, except his is about having an inferior background. She’s just bearing the brunt of his reactions due to the break up.

Does anyone else feel that Dr Huang’s best friend and the 22 yr old are going to find out that they share the same husband? It just can’t be coincidence that they met like that and she was catching up on a cheating drama. Her husband also didn’t want her to go to that hospital which is supposed to be better for those with mature maternal age.

OMG…can’t wait for tomorrow’s episodes…wondering if he’s serious in the OR prep scene or if he’s going to play it off since he’s such a goofball…ep14 “let’s have a contest, if you loose, you’ll be my girlfriend; if I loose, I’ll be your boyfriend.” 🤣. He’s guiding her in learning how to express herself and pays attention to her emotional cues.

I definitely agree with you regarding Cong Rui. Du Di values their friendship more than she does; there’s more depth there. The miscarriage situation was disappointing and some other plot device could have been used but 🤷🏻‍♀️ these writers always mess something up so I’m getting used to that. I’m mainly rooting for our two leads and the FL character development. The plotting of both second leads is irritating. SML can’t even face his own insecurities and he gives FL crap but people like that tend to deflect their own issues and Du Di rejecting bears the brunt of it. There definitely no love there for him to make such a drastic change in attitude. He’s very superficial, looking for a fast way to get promoted (reason he chose OB/GYN), make money, have a wife and child, the perfect life he didn’t grow up with. There’s nothing wrong with this ambition but he’s going to have to face reality and his insecurities.
